I’m against adding a 3-team Battlegrounds mode because it will only increase queue times.

I don’t even know where to start… PvP feels like a real stumbling block for ZOS. It almost seems like PvP is some kind of exam for game designers that ZOS consistently fails. Disabling proc sets in Cyrodiil only narrowed the meta down to Sorcs.
And now what? Do you not remember how players massively complained about the 3-team format? Do you not remember people saying that the third team is always just an annoyance, and that most competitive games use a 2-team format? What do we have now? A bunch of different modes with different rules because the developers can’t make one solid mode? Do other games have this problem? What exactly is going on?
At one point, I actually liked 2-team Battlegrounds. Honestly, the 2-team format has its advantages. It feels more dynamic because of the larger team sizes. When both teams are close in score, the match becomes genuinely exciting. The 3-team format, on the other hand, feels too monotonous to me.
Sure, maybe the 3-team mode simply fits this game better—but is a good 2-team format really impossible here? It’s also unfair to say that heavy domination by one team is only a problem of the 2-team format. In 3-team modes, you just have a “consolation” second place, so it doesn’t feel as bad to lose your time—but that’s all it is.
So why does this issue feel so much worse in 2-team Battlegrounds? I think the answer is much simpler than it seems. It’s not bad matchmaking or some weird MMR system. The real issue is that the skill level of the overwhelming majority of players—both in PvP and PvE—is far from what we expect. Because of that, it’s not surprising that two or three slightly better players who randomly end up on the same team can decide the outcome of the entire match. That’s the whole reason.
Honestly, I’m just tired… I’m tired of ZOS once again telling us they don’t have a good solution and just giving us a choice between two flawed modes. What will happen outside of events with boosted AP rewards, or when everyone who wanted it reaches veterancy 100 rank? Will prime-time queues go up to 15 minutes?
Can we at least have the option to queue for any random mode?

✭✭Yeah; you can select every Battleground before queuing and it will throw you into whatever opens up first, it’s a great way to find games in the dead of night when 90% of the population are sleeping.
