Hiding a random drop on lockboxes is a bad idea

I am farming the fragments for the thieves guild home for days now.

To be honest: To hide a randomly dropping fragment in lootboxes is a really terrible idea, given that out of 10 locations visited my me only one is actually available (because of course many people farming them).

How on Earth am I to find that darn fragment?

PS: I know that I can buy it but this does not remove my point to hide something randomly dropping in a very scarce ressource.

I mean lockboxes (somehow I don't seem to be able to edit my post any more, no button for that)

If on PC, simply hover your mouse pointer immediately to the right of your title, two tooltips will pop up. A Bookmark followed by an Options tooltip. Click the invisible icon that brings up the Options tooltip and take it from there.

Interestingly, on mobile, in my case Chrome, both icons are clearly visible as seen below:

How do you have so many notifications @Thormar

Honestly? It's down to laziness on my part.
Specifically though, whether on mobile or PC, there is a bookmark icon next to the title of any thread. If you bookmark a thread, you get an email notification every time someone adds to the thread. Additionally, at the top of any forum category is a 'follow' button, I think that too leads to email notifications.
In my case, when I first bookmarked/followed a few thread/categories I didn't think much of it, it's only when I returned, after a long break from the forums, that it hit me and by then I was like am not bothering - especially since the email tied to the notifications dumps all ESO email into an ESO only folder - basically, 'out of sight and so out of mind' sort of thing...
Like I said though, it's really just laziness on my part since I could go hunt down all culprit threads/forum categories and just 'un' bookmark/follow them.
Either way, as far as I know, those are the two actions that push the notification counter up.

Yes, it's terrible. I have the other three pieces, but that last one from the boxes is awful! I have better things to do than waste time on horrible RNG trying to get that last one out of a random box! :/

I thought the lockbox one could drop from any zone? I think mine came from a DLC zone. There's TONS of lockboxes all over the map.

The Indecipherable Sai Note is acquired from Thieves Troves and Safeboxes through out Tamriel. I got mine from a safe box in Deshaan. In Mournhold there are a bunch of merchants around with safeboxes in addition to some thieves troves that you can try which will likely be a better use of your time versus running around Glenumbra looking only for thieves troves.

I have a spot that I use in Murkmire, it has 3 safeboxes and whilst waiting for them to respawn I pickpocket several local citizens.

2 of the 3 safeboxes respawn pretty fast, the 3rd one seems to be more random.

Find a spot out in the world where nobody else is, I've gotten the note for all 3 of my accounts from that area.

I sleep until midday cos I'm a problem solver!

The Indecipherable Sai Note? Don't just stick to one zone, if you are. I found mine in a Deshaan thieves trove. My husband got his in a safebox in Glenumbra. Plus, they aren't bind on pick up so you can buy them from guild traders. They are dropping in price daily. Hovering around 10-15K minimum.
