Question about swapping character names
I’d like to swap the names between two of my characters, but the current system seems to require three name change tokens to do it.
The process would be:
• Rename Character A to a temporary placeholder
• Rename Character B to Character A’s old name
• Rename Character A again to Character B’s old name
Is there a more efficient way to swap two character names?
And once a name is changed, does the old name become available immediately?

Name one something incredibly offensive (don't do this)

Yes, that's how it needs to be done. Source: recently did the 'poor man's Class Change token' at a cost of 12k Crowns.
I had a Maormer Sorc who I never liked his look and an Argonian Necro who never really fit his Class. But I wanted to make a Khajiit Necro instead and turn the current Argonian Necro into a Sorc.
The process was the name change for the Necro to give him the new name, and then immediately the name change for the Sorc to replace the name for the Argonian. At least I could take my time with the appearance changes.
Yes, when you change the name, it is instantly available again. I actually timed myself (since I liked the Argonian's name and didn't want to lose it) and managed to cycle the names in just under a minute. iirc it was 4 seconds.Edited by tomofhyrule on August 1, 2026 4:14PM0
