Or. . . I couldn't believe we could not exploit his 'mortality' to rid the world of a Daedric Prince. I fervently wished for this every time he called my elf his lackey. Yes, yes, permanently ridding Nirn of him during the Second Era would present some lore problems. . . but I can still wish.

    Almost certainly wouldn't have worked.

I don't believe for a second he was actually mortal. Or that his power was ever in danger.

Agree, he was definitely sandbagging it and pretending to be poisoned to see what I would do.

Doing that would cause end of the world consquences well not end of the world but end of creativity basically. It was actually way more dangerous for Sheogorath to be mortal that was like risking the world on his part or at least the cosmic balance so in this case Sheogorath being mortal ended up causing the entire threat and well risked so much basically. Sheogorath is a cosmic force that counterbalances order without chaos order takes reign. But then Sheogorath dying likely would have meant Jyggalag himself also would have died too and that would have done so much damage to reality itself to the point of possibly killing the concept of order and chaos all together. So yeah Sheogorath did the most stupid thing, just to take a vacation. Which was part of his madness, and madness of risking reality to have fun as a mortal well that goes up his alley. Though in this storyline if Sheogorath died, there would be no check and balance on madness at all and madness would have taken over everything. Just like how Jyggalags order did and that in of itself was a great threat to Nirn. Sheogorath keeps the madness contained. Without that Madness would have no balance or limit.
