Aetheric Lancer set is useless literally

Im so pissed I grinded for this set just for it to be useless. There are even videos online talking about the dps loss by wearing this set.

You can’t parse with it cause the circle goes to random spots.

Can’t bring it into trials/dungeons cause you can’t always move especially against bosses.

I don’t see how it can be useful in pvp if other players are always moving and you have to be up close to use jabs. Also if someone sees the circle on the ground they will just move away from it lol.

Its not that difficult to fix this just have to circle spawn under your feet. Makes absolutely no sense the circle goes to random un reachable spots every 3 seconds. Even if you make it to the circle its going to move as soon as you get inside of it.

Yeah, the set isn't great. Why couldn't it just be spawn and attached to your feet instead so that if follows you around

What's next you want the set to just give 10% dmg and and always land? Or provide a powerful dot that also doubles down as a burst when needed? Oh wait those already exist, just not for templar xdd.
You have a choice of 40 seconds of stack building to lose half your magicka or chase around a tiny circle just for the proc to miss anyway.

I am happy about it since it means I never have to step into IA for my templar. I can just fire siege in PvP.

Lancer is a fine set and would be a great set if it spawned underneath you.

The damage the set does isn´t terrible (not saying it´s great, because it isn´t) but for how annoying the mini game is to set it up as a burst tool in PvP, the damage doesn´t justify the inconvenience.

This is all I feel like they need to change. It just needs to spawn underneath you

When it comes to parsing its more inconvenient to move around then anything then have to consider if your moving around you can’t even use a CP node like Backstabber. Also got to remember parsing has nothing to do with real content. Most times you can’t even bring the same set up you did when you parsed or have to consider things like direct single target damage not really meaning as much in group content.

With this being said the set is useless in trials and dungeons. Against bosses its definitely useless cause you can’t be spinning around bosses trying to keep up with the circle it leaves on the ground. Also due to it reapplying every 3 seconds, it takes 1-2 seconds to even get to the circle then it moved again lol.

Yeah, I think I am asking for too much for Templar lol... I am just glad that it isn't some very niche healing set with very niche buff like 'when you heal you or your allies 5 times with the Rune Focus, you gain 'good job', increasing your healing done by 10% and grants Minor Resolve. This also increases the cost of your active skill by 10% and your Focus no longer restores resources.' I shudder at the thought.

It's the bread and butter set for Templar PvP right now. Obviously not saying much since Templar is straight cheeks after the death of Signet, but it's still the go to as your frontbar.

Literally almost rage replied to this...until I saw it was satire/sarcasm lol

Yeah...set is tough to justify the grind and using in any content. Unfortunately, it is still the best Templar has right now because the DPS is so trash and masteries weren't even half though out.
I agree this class should have been the first rework as the entire toolkit is clunky at best and just does not give many advantages like other classes for utility, synergy or support.

Literally just stop giving templars terms & conditions on everything. Make the Aetheric Lancer set proc off burning light and thats it, no complicated AOE minigame chase. Make the wrathsun set proc more often and not take away half the mag, but lower tooltips if needed.

With every update, templar gets another ankle monitor and a warrant for house arrest for having "too OP" DPS. Stop with the "house camping bunker" gameplay and just make templar a paladin with decent AOE cleave for smiting, heavy windups, and sustain to support aggressive+risky playstyle. Sacred Ground is trash, and half the masteries are gimped because they treat mobility as a privilege. Like oh gee, be happy you don't have to be a sitting duck to benefit from your own passives!

Like at this point DK is more free and mobile than templar even though DK is supposed to be the grounded earth/mountain class. So... No more outdated sacred ground stationary gameplay. The playerbase has been begging ZOS for YEARS (literally years if you search "templar house" on forums) to abandon this shackling philosophy for templar, that templar is supposed to build a house with ground effects and never move. It's especially insulting when the Aetheric Lancer gimmick is chasing an aoe outside of the house. What kind of nonsense is this? Why is templar the only class cursed with passives, class sets and scripts, and mechanics that involve staying inside an AoE, instead of having normal passives that apply to the character directly? Why is the class punished for moving too much when it already has long cast times, long setup with potl, and weaker defense than other classes? Templar needs good positioning and game sense even more than other classes to survive and deal damage, so stop punishing them for moving.
