No payoff skill
1 spammable (wield soul specifically)
Minimal class synergies (storm calling and that's it)
1 buff (sorc 5% passive), 0 debuffs
Minimal good sets that aren't heavy attack locked
It's just sad how unloved Shock damage is in ESO.

I've long been banging the drum about sorc's passive being buffed coupled with the ele specific sets in the game not being unusable garbage, but unfortunately too many people seem to be traumatized by sorc in pvp to ever allow anything good to happen to the class. At least giving sorc something like warden has with concussed being boosted would be greatly appreciated (along with shock knife)

I'm hopeful it will turn out that way, but still very concerned that it's extremely likely it won't due to how the text described Sorcerer in ZOS's class description image at the start of this year. It read as though ZOS was basically going to phase out shock damage entirely and focus Sorc on "dark magic and pacts"... That's what Arcanist is for if they want to focus on pacts with daedra (Hermaous Mora) or dark magic (Runes), ZOS doesn't need to also force Sorcerer into that theme as well.
The most frustrating part of all this is that ZOS has been completely silent on this issue the entire time, despite the numerous threads, comments and posts regarding the state of Shock damage in this game. Not even a peep from the usually informative @ZOS_Kevin on if the team will take this into consideration when they look to rework Sorcerer (which I'm assuming work will be starting any week now, if not already, with Warden and U51 set to go to PTS by the end of the month)

At this point, I would settle for having enough actually functional abilities (and sets) just to be able to make a fully functional build, but it would be nice to finally see passives/synergies for concussed and shock damage itself added to Sorcs passives beyond just the +5% increase.
Also, yeah, there's definitely an insane amount of unfounded PTSD and bias (especially from many who comment here on the forums) due to very specific Sorc builds (none of which have been actual shock damage builds) being too strong in PvP in the past.
I'm just hoping ZOS can address this for Sorcs refresh (and hopefully the lightning destro staff skills at the same time) and not just take the lazy/easy path of buffing the already strong builds (max mag, and stam proc stacking) Sorc currently has.

I dont see shock going away on sorc. If anything id love to see all magic damage removed on sorcerer and replaced with shock or physical damage. I think itd be interesting if sorc could apply sundered or concussed and also apply the other one at the same time. With a cooldown of like 1s. That would be cool power fantasy.

There is literally zero compelling reason why every damage type should not be available on every Scribing ability.

This is my main complaint. Somehow we get frost, phys, mag, poison, and BLEED on everything but miss two of the core elemental damage types? That just doesn't make sense.

We got all the frost stuff because we complained about it at the time it launched. I remember we only had chilling contingency and chilling explosion at launch.

That would've been diabolical. How could I play magden without my chilling knifeSpeaking of which, they need to update the dual wield passive still to reduce mag cost too. That stuff be a resource ouchy

Mag sorc has needed a real spammable for pve for pretty much its entire existence and the fact that scribing for whatever reason denied it access to that with knife is just weird. The class already has the weakest elemental type buff of any class and you can't even properly make use of it with the most prevalent endgame pve scribing skill. I don't think it's a tall ask and gives mag sorc a little bit of love that it's been lacking for a long time.

Agree, but doesn't Sorc get bonus for shock damage AND physical damage??
Run physical or multi target knife, get Sundered for minor resistance debuff and 300 wd....
