I'll tolerate again this terrible NPC just to get more Tome points. I just hope all this terrible "event" has a more tolerable story than the miserable Mages Guild main story... but I know it is not better.

whilst gathering uncle sheo's memory motes, i swear on one of them he laughed about when he and someone else tore the arm off another guy and painted the town red with it...

    pretty dark stuff imo
You've had nature explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the living body explained to you and you're bored with it, you've had the universe explained to you and you're bored with it, so now you want cheap thrills and, like, plenty of them....

i think its hugely personal preference lol

And I'm sure they show the dark stuff, and not just hide the darker edges in lore bits that are just in notes or talked about as noodle incidents, while the only things we specifically see him do on screen are just hardcore cheese and lame jokes, right?

Like, it's not just implying the dark stuff, right? We actually finally get to see more of a Dark Night-esque Joker instead of campy '60s Batman, right?

    ...right?

Not only one of the most annoying Daedric Princes, but one that I feel like we explored enough. Sheogorath’s obsessed-with-cheese, skipping-rope-with-your-entrails persona felt fresh and darkly whimsical back in the day, but now he's your average memelord. For an entity that represents the shattering of the human mind, he is ironically used as ZeniMax and Bethesda's safest, most comfortable comfort food.

    Questline spoilers:
This questline hasn't added anything new to the lore, really. Once again the game prioritizes wackiness over actual madness. Cheap humor over psychological horror.

There are many Princes who are not explored enough in ESO. We got a lot of Molag Bal, Dagon, and Hircine. Meridia remains mysterious even after her role in several story quests. Nocturnal and Mephala appear especially in the Trilogy. But "uncle Sheo" is a very safe bet for ZOS, because they know he is very popular. TBH, I don't see why, I admit that am among those who get annoyed by him quite easily. However, I will probably enjoy this new story, since there is no new chapter or proper DLC.

In the future, I would really like to see some similar story about the divines, or a specific divine. I think this is a part of lore that is very little explored. We get a festival for Zenithar, but it doesn't expand its lore.

a good chunk of the princes have major questlines in eso

one of the few thats barely been touched on at all in here though is sanguine

they even invented a new daedric prince for eso
whom they immediately threw away at the end of the questline lol

That's the main reason why I hate Sheogorath... he should have been interesting and dark, not whimsical. ZOS has completely botched him and turned him into the caricature.

In the stories you can still tell he's supposed to be cruel and sadistic. It's just that the delivery is just too much, too jokey, it gets irritating. Like, we get it. You like strangling people with their intestines. And cheese. How edgy.

As it has been mentioned already it greatly depends on one's own personal perspective.

To me personally giving in to extreme SM urges would fit better in Molag Bal's sphere of influence, and actually revelling on them would belong in Sanguine's sphere of influence.

I don't mind Sheogorath as a character and an occasional threat/problem. It makes sense that he's the Daedric Prince who pops in and out of Tamriel causing random problems rather than focusing on one big, elaborate scheme. But for that to work I think he needs more variety and unpredictability, not the same jokes every time.

What I don't like is ZOS telling us we like him and how excited we are that he's making another appearance. He's not the only character who gets that treatment and it always annoys me. When people like something they don't need to be told they like it, and if they don't telling them they do is not going to persuade them.

It might be a game engine or animation budget problem. They did the same with Sanguine - he'll tell you all about the crazy and disturbing things he's going to make people do to themselves and each other and then the resolution to his quests are a "blink and you'll miss it" moment of an existing animation that sort-of implies what he said might have happened.

Games are weird like that. I remember a game dev (not from ZOS) telling the story of explaining to a writer more used to working on TV shows that they could crash as many helicopters as they wanted, into each other, into buildings, no problem! But a cut scene where a character comes in the door, removes a jacket and pulls on a jumper is absolutely out of the question, they don't have the time or budget for that.

The fighting stars was the best ever godly beings storyline. Craglorn. Id rather have more of that that than daedra anyday.

Daedra feel like leaches on tamriel, draining it dry and adding nothing.

Yeah I wish we had proper servers instead of a megaserver so I could play somewhere with a low population. Other players in the world has always been a net negative in ESO, you don't team up you just compete for mob kills. The new overworld difficulty didn't help because it doesn't phase people, someone with vanilla difficulty can oneshot mobs you need to tag as a vestige.
Desperate for Roleplaying servers to bring open world non-organised RP to Elder Scrolls Online. Please ZOS.

the sheogorath thing isnt really an "event" its just new content, which will still be there in 6 months when there will be few people running it lol

it took me like 2.5 hours to finish the whole questline, so i expect it could be lower crowds even by next week

pretty much every new content release has looked like this for almost as long as eso has existed lol

If you find Sheo annoying then how do you not find the entirety of the rest of the game not annoying? Sheo is like the only person I remember dialogue from. But ESO quests are all kinda samey to me anyway. ESO is literally on fire and this is the thing you take issue with is funny
