I thought it was a quest, not a golden pursuit

I guess permanent questlines don’t drive FOMO enough, so they really want to make sure you grind it out NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!!!!!
At least “I can’t even see the questgiver under 50 winged twilights and there’s a flashbang explosion every three seconds from someone mounting up on their Radiant Apex idiocy” is thematic for the Prince of Madness? Because there’s no way anyone’s getting the lore experience here.

Doing any new quest on the first day is like this, to be fair. Regardless of pursuits, people like to try new content when it releases.

Not all people. There are a lot of people who prefer to quest after the crowds have died down and moved on so they can get a better experience. I normally did the Chapter stories (released in June) around August timeframe.
But since the West Weald reveal event spoiled Necrom’s ending from 6 months before, and then the Writhing Wall event dropped spoilers from Solstice part 1 from only 3 months before, it does seem like ZOS’s plan is that we grind the stories instantly and then move right along to the next thing.
Y’know, Skyrim’s looking real good right about now. And even though it’s 15 years old, I can still play it on my own time at my own pace.

Had difficulty with a couple of objects not giving the interact prompt properly, but otherwise everything seemed pretty smooth - just lots of crowds!

Yes, and why I delayed doing the thief guild quests, sneak missions who looks more like an raid kind of break it.haleysarahw wrote: »tomofhyrule wrote: »It’s both!

Everything in the game is like this really, between Sorc pets, and everyone running around with followers, and non-combat pets, and having ridiculous transmog, anything over 15-20 people starts looking like a kaleidoscope, not to mention the performance
Like my PC runs ESO perfectly fine at high settings but whenever I go anywhere with more than 20 people it gets painful, my computer froze up for like 30 seconds doing the Dynamic Events.
So yeah, that's why I usually wait 3-4 days for the initial zerg rush of players to pass, then it's much better.
