Listen, I don't try to be a contrarian. It's not like I'm out here saying, intentionally, against my own true self, that I don't like something just because everyone else loves it. Okay? But the "Mad god" is one of those things. I just cannot understand it. For as long back as I can remember, EVERYONE has liked this character in this series.
Well, not as far back as I can remember, because I don't think he was even in Morrowind (my first TES game, I'm a morro boomer), and if he was I don't remember it. I do remember Oblivion and, yeah, I didn't like it then either.
I don't like "Whimsical" characters because they are usually annoying. I especially don't like it when they have power. He is the most terrifying daedric lord, I think, and he's not even cool! It all started with that stupid wabbajack... thing. It made no sense. It didn't have to make sense. And it not making sense, is why it was perfect for him! And I didn't care that it didn't have to make sense, because to me, I was better than that, and I deserved a daedric lord that made sense in my elder scrolls games.
Anyway, that of course carried over the years and I still don't like this guy. Every time I come across a Sheogorath quest in ESO I just groan. I hate it. I truly truly do. I skip dialogue. I know, I know... blasphemy... but I do. Maybe I shouldn't. I dunno.
Why do you like him? If you do.
