You can keep some of the people happy some of the time, most of the people most of the time, But you cannot keep all of the people happy all of the time. Its simply Human Nature!

But a lot of the things that have changed that have made both myself and others that I play (played) with simply Sick of it all are unreasonable direction changes!

Going back to Scribing, it was a pain in the butt to find INK, over time everyone has an abundance, but on release it was rarer than rocking horse crap, people felt restricted in trying out new things as they could not get the resources! Off-putting for loads!
But its an MMO, so the Grind is Very real, apparently an accepted part of the game play..

Then going forward, things that had potential are basically ruined! Mostly by the “META” approach. Everyone ends up playing basically the same thing, much to the dismay of those who do not, those who play the game their own way!

Then the approach of the FOMO – I keep saying it, I did not know what FOMO was, until it was explained to me, I actually never had it… NOW I DO!

Events are great for getting new things, pulling everyone together, BUT when the whole game becomes a Grind / Event after Event and the NEED to do this or get none of the new stuff, then the whole game becomes pointless.

There is a rich varied story line throughout the game and it has in the most part been well thought out and executed , allowing for future inclusion and extension, good example being the Latest Thieves Guild! But I have on my old account done ALL of the story line, on 1 of the 20 Toons. ON the Newer account I have not done nearly as much, And find that I cannot, I simply do not have the time!

You either do the story or do the grind! You cannot do both! A massive Punishment being the R&G, the “New” account I have is actually the Oldest one, £40 for an update to the original game, or £3.99 for the new full game with updates! I found the R&G on the Full game was terrible but fantastic on the original, it stayed that way for over 12 years, right up to the point I started playing it, then the R&G became awful…
Your Login reward was always collected on Both accounts, simple, log in then leave, you got the reward… Now I have to grind the game for 3-4 days simply to get the Challenges Done, to get what was free in the past, and if I want to get more... PAY, and in saying that PAY for things that I do not want, when its free its ok, but when I have to pay for it, I resent it!

I have ALWAYS been against Online Games, way back when they started to appear, the underlying Gut feeling was “Pay to Play” until the company did not make enough, then it was gone, along with anything you had paid in, so a solid NO for me. ESO changed that, it is the ONE AND ONLY subscription game that I have ever played. And moan at things , yes , but kept on playing!

NOW though, Pay for Everything, play the way I am told or get nothing, have no time to play the actual game itself, it become a full-time job with overtime to get nothing!!

Bugs are not getting fixed or addressed, example – If you are on before the daily roll over AND play though, you do not get the daily login credit! Here in the UK that means stop playing at 10:55 log out and wait until 11:05 to log in again.

The “nowhere keys” I do favour after favour, I do the dynamic events WHEN I CAN FIND THEM, on 2 accounts, only to get my only 1 Key 2 days ago. Now I am expected to keep going for God only knows how long for another, OK it may become more prevalent when the nowhere event goes live, like the Scribing, but there is your Definitive example of FOMO, and I did not create it, the game itself has.

I have bought heading to the Hundred mark of the games and DLC’s for myself family and friends over the years, Some of those people are heading to the Thousands of Euros / Pounds / Dollars each spent in game.

And now with the state of the worlds “Gaming is becoming a Luxury Rich Hobby”, everything is getting expensive to the point where families do not have the spare money, I am watching more and more people simply leave this game and others down to simply cost and they do not want a second job that costs them money!

Right now it’s touch and go as to whether or not I join them! I pay for both my wife and myself on this game, its at the stage where I can only afford 1 or struggle for the 2, I simply have the feeling that everything I Buy NOW, might be gone in a few months, so WHY WASTE THE MONEY?

I understand that this is simply Business, it’s a product to sell. The Community offshoot, has to be nurtured, because if the community likes it they spend money therefor it’s an advantageous outcome! But why worry about all of the people who poured time, effort and energy into something to create it into something, when it can go on Game pass to bulk out the revenue stream, and the roll-over of people is a known entity.

So for me all of these factors are coming together, and I am going to cut MY / OUR subscriptions by at least 50%. And I feel genuinely sorry to do so!

Subscription in = Profit = Bills and Wages paid = Game development Could Continue = Better end result, Cutting Subscriptions will in the long run affect the chain.

But the way its reading via the Media, and other sources is

Subscription in = Profit = less on staff = More Profit = Reduced development = less staff = even more profit = Game in Support mode = Less Staff Still = Even more than more Profit.

That’s how its feeling now!

I want to be wrong, I want the game to become the game it was expanding and getting Better , but nothing being said apart from the “corpo Speak”, is the same as listening to a Dead Company pulling out the last coin before it closes. I have worked in originations over the years with the same “Corpo Speak” , and from experience I can tell you, NONE of the Survived! A Couple were eaten Up and New companies came along, but they were Not the same thing… Read the History of MG, the car company, and how many times it went to the wall only to come back, for a while! They end up as nothing they were, but the name is the only thing selling.

How do you avoid it? Simple Be honest, tell people what’s going on, allow the people with faith to Support your transitions – They WILL !!!

So time for the organ GRINDER TO STEP UP, we are fed up of talking to the monkeys

Whether People agree with this or not, everyone is allowed thier own choices and ideas, this is simply how after playing from day 1 that i feel. Enough might just be here, for me at least

Perhaps ESO can go the same way as DCUO and just add many things to the store to help alleviate the grind. It works for DCUO, and even though they are down to only a small number of players, they still make a LOT of $$. ESO has a much greater draw than DCUO, and while some would leave over possible P2W aspects, a lot of players would stick around or new players would come in because they wouldn't have to grind and could just PAY their way for items.

If money is an issue, you can have amazing offline game experiences with way higher production values than ESO everywhere that last you for 100s of hours. There are regularly sales on all platforms where you can pickup gems of games that are halt the price of 1 ESO cosmetic.

Also, why grind? Do you really need every event item or every style page? Or is collecting more important then wearing?

The bug with the daily rollover was fixed. I was logged in this morning on PCNA when it rolled over. and I was able to claim the daily.

And from what I've heard from the Dev streams, the Nowhere Vault is not going to be an event, but a new permanent area. The new Thieves Guild questline gives a lot more context for the Nowhere Vault and the significance of the keys in that process.

My thinking is that the key drop rate is low because they want to preserve the established story behind the keys and the Nowhere Vault. If you can amass a ton of a rare item, as established in the lore, and walk right in the Vault, it loses some of it's importance and rarity.

You can guarantee some Nowhere keys by completing the 10th day Favors quests. It's also been theorized that the 20th day might also give keys. (But we're not yet on day 20 to verify one way or the other.)

It seems like you might just be burning yourself out trying to play two accounts. The game is meant to be something you enjoy in the downtime you do have. If it no longer feels that way, your idea of cutting back and reducing accounts - or even taking a small break from the game - might help to bring back some of the enjoyment you get out of the game.

This. Step away from the game for a while. And if you wait for a Steam or GOG sale, you can get insanely good games for less than $10. They're not MMOs, but many of them will keep you busy for hundreds of hours. You won't be playing the latest, but often you'll be playing the greatest.
Also, why grind? Do you really need every event item or every style page? Or is collecting more important then wearing?

Agree most of the time. But the nowhere keys are different. They'll be required to explore some upcoming content. So far, I've only gotten the three you get when you complete the 10th favour for each quest giver. Hopefully they've designed it so that if you get the guaranteed ones from favours, that will be enough. If not, then they're beginning to gate content behind grind. That would have me reconsidering my time here. I understand grind behind gear and such (it's common), but if they start requiring grind to participate in solo content, nope.

I’m on a long hiatus until they can be more open about the Warden.

Most of the releases this year have not been enjoyable. Gold Coast Bazaar felt incredibly thin, the Tomes expiration debacle was very frustrating, Night Market didn’t land well, and the weird handling of Warden’s status and other combat changes has just shaken what little confidence I had.

I don’t really believe things will get better any time soon, so I’m on break until at least the Warden has a status update.

    Same.

Honestly though, why the hell are there like 10 different currencies in this game?

What are we even doing here man.

Also get rid of scribing, get rid of subclassing - do that and then you'll start to have people come back to this game. Stop chasing trends - you chase them about 5 years after the trend passed anyways.

I'm surprised they haven't tried to be a Battle Royal game yet.

They're not supposed to be rare at all, according to Jason during the last livestream. He literally said they want people to be able to get a decent amount of Keys, and they're supposed to be dropping from all sorts of content right now but don't seem to be dropping from anything but Favors.

Good point. The jack of all trades is the master of none, as the saying goes.

There are other games with better housing. There are other games with better companion systems. Subclassing just makes everything the same class in many ways and destroys identity and the same could be said about scribing.

ZOS should focus on what is unique about their game that nobody else has, the core combat mechanics and open world PvP. That's how businesses get ahead. They offer something special people can't get anywhere else.

18 dynamic events, 17 favours Still no keys!!! 8 hours played on 1 account today.

I'm not burned out!! I am simply sick of this bugged beta .

I read in another post you can actually see the correspondance, and let you track how many Favours you have done... ok 1 account its there and on that account since the thing has started i have got 1 key... 14 hours per day 7 days per week ( no I do not have a life!!!)
on the acount i am now on thought was to level it up to 3600, it has no corresepondance, yet there are 17 mails for completed favours, today! not to mention the piles on each of the 10 toons!!!

Dev's Come check out how i play the game, i will be at home either here in the UK or at home in Texas, You should be able to get me every 30 minutes or so in either place. It will be like this event for the NOwhere key's Where in both countries, well thats part of the fun for you to find out!!! and i may or may nbot have a computer with me, but thats also part of the fun!!!

Hard work / Graft has never bothered me.... wasting time effort and energy always has!!!

Subscriptions all cancelled today , Zos made my mind up for me

PS I am over 20 favours, still do not have any key!!!!

    Quick clarification here..

Old Disabled 80% Blind Vet, thats me. So much time on my hands, I genuinley like being active which has been taken away from me, But i do like trying new things to keep my brain alive.

Some things you could call a grind, others equate to more effort! I am willing to put in the effort and I do! but this R&G bull has been bull for a LONG TIME, andf its getting worse the longer you play, stepping away for a while and coming back does not improve it... tried that! as I have 12 accounts 10 of which will lay dormant for Months / Years, go back to them and there is no difference bad R&G stays as BAD.

Yesterday i spent from 07:00 until 21:00 playing mostly the same single account, each toon did 3 favours and a minimum of 2 encounters (most 3-5), No Style pages - No Chew Bones - about 8 items i did not have - No Keys.

A lot of the time was simpley jumping from server to server trying to find a dynamic enounter , that annoys!

The Keys as like the Ink will over time build up, but thats not going ot help the Monthly Collect 10 Keys! we are at about 19 days and i have none, (ok 1 on the main account) there are only 30 days in the month! ( i know, you only need 1, put into bank remove from bank 10 times gets you the monthly, still not a help if you cannot get 1 to start with, which is all i want 1)

I started this game Solo, over the years brought in family and friends, we had the problem of not being able to play together unless we did a trial , lol , even then we needed 3.

I am 2 people away from being back to Solo, truth be told more like 1 , as my wife is now playing more baulders gate than this as she is sick of it all.

So I do play 10 - 17 hours per day , 7 days per week , ( last night i went to bed at 23:20, I am up today at 03:49 - Pain Sucks!). so go to the minimum on even my main lvl 3600, thats 70 hours per week, given that MOST people are on for 2-3 hours weekday and say 16 at the weekend, thats around 26 hours ( me 10 years ago ) thats about 1/3 of the time i spend in game, Doing the exact same events / challanges / struggles, yet some have 10 times the amount of keys - All the style pages - every itrem they did not have.

Where is the reward for the effort?

A Couple of months ago you went into the isles to get a drop... a couple of days on the little account = nothing, go in on the main, 2nd attempt get it! Bring in an alt little account, couple of days nothing, go get another same , go back to the one i am leveling and BUY ESO+ get it 2nd attempt! Coinsidence possibly, bug possibly, way of making money from you possibly, who knows.

its the little things that HURT in here, they build up! resentment builds up, and i have years of that!

Steam = 80 odd games, Epic = 200+ games, GOG = 40 odd games, Actual CD/DVD games = Hundreds, game choice is not a problem. But I like this game, lvl 3600 took time effort and money , its an investment of a kind !

My problem is that the game is not getting better, its getting worse. not advancing its coming back to the original ESO without DLC's ( as Quoted in Germany "We are at the same Staffing level as Orsinium and Summerset" - they forgot morrowind and the expansion of the studio then! ) between then and now though the player base has Exploded, and add in the fact you have Xbox Ultimate there is an even bigger jump, as to When and if Crossplay comes along then an even bigger jump in the player base... with the same Original Staff Level???? there is a hiding to nothing!!!!

I knew how this works, 30 of us design a SYSTEM, to monitor the engines in Fighter/Bombers, Flight Profiles - Weather Conditions - Locations, networked via Satellites. The operational teams went up to the 1000's, the Dev team was split to Improvement and Maintenance 20/10, this system worked in several War Zones over multiple counties , and still exists today.

Monetary cuts / Expansion / Force redutions all had impacts in various ways. the one thing that never changed was the desire to need to get it right! ( ok fair's fair , we were designing & maintaining a system used to kill things, not play on down time - But the principle is the exact same!)

If I could find a fault in Saudi , create the patch and fix the fault , get on a plane to Germany , make sure it was all in parameters , get onto another plane and fly to the USA to get onto another plane to get onto a carrier and the exact same patch was live and running already, tweak the parameters , get on another plane and go home for a day off , then start it all over again the day after that.

I have an expectation of Quality and professionalism expected, more so in a local 9-5 office enviroment . this is Now Well missing from Microsoft in a whole! its all about Monmey and AI and Money for AI.

Using the above example is all down to Logistics and MAnagement, the Staff cuts were NOT a whim, they were / are planned in advance! its a lizard effect, DO NOT CUT OFF THE HEAD, CUT OFF THE TAIL AND LET IT GROW BACK!! ( though god only knows , there are a lot of heads that should have rolled over the years for different industries)

So where i am coming from !!!!

the R&G System is NOT working as a standard variable - until its fixed - "Your r&g is simply awful!!" is a perm excuse / acceptance

Taking the Maps and enviroments you have and expanding within them, YES , a benefitial way of exploiting a resource for expansion.... As long as you do not spend 2 years doing this and then the next 20 repeating it over and over...

Making items for events is a good way of getting people to do the events, but a very poor way of keeping people engaged , that was what the game was for! You want to keep th actual game? then its simple create a Crossover! come back to Gold and Crowns, simply allow people to win either for completeing things, and then put everyhing New and old into the Store and let people buy what they want... they are happy - you are happy - your dev / maint is happy and everyone is making a profit...

if its stupid but it works , its not stupid!!!

The Subs are still cancelled, egt things sorted they can go back on! keep goping the way things are going, then I save money and will not feel bad if this turns into a Microsoft Xbox Ultimate Exclusive (lol, pre thought for Elder Scrolls 6 and Fallout 5)

but have a good day y'all , and may the R&G be with you!

My understanding is that you receive a nowhere key when you complete 10 of a particular favor on the same character. So, 10 Auridon favors on the same character will reward 1 nowhere key. 10 in Glenumbra and 10 more in Stonefalls will reward additional keys.

I received 1 nowhere key from a thieve's trove last week and got one today by doing my 10th Glenumbra favor on the same character. Each city is on a different schedule for me because I didn't realize at first there where 3 different ones to be done, so I'll get an Auridon and Stonefalls nowhere key somewhere in the next few days. Granted, I'm not playing 14 hours per day and I only do favors on one character now, but I feel confident that I will have sufficient nowhere keys by the time the Nowhere Vault releases.

thats a NO lol, I have only ever got 1 key on the Main account, and that was doing the Glenumbra Dynamic Event!

but aside from the Keys, where are all the Style Pages Etc, I have recieved NOTHING but normal weapons / armour etc...

as you say thats a lot of play for NOTHING!

Agreed that by the time the vault comes active there should be Keys.... POINT WHY AM I GRINDING TO DO AN IMPOSSIBLE CHALLENGE? they messed up on that one, Dont even get me started on the thieves recovery ones, 18 * 6 (one per day ) in a week, main account 20 toons, took Days!!! on an account with 1 would take 72 days... thats a long week!!!!

the bit thats got me totaly sick, is DO IMPOSSIBLE THINGS! thats a Them fault, not a me fault for calling them out on it!

Main account has went all these years with in the majority simply painted standard items, its the wife that needs everything, for us Blind People, a 3000 crown outfit and painted dark brotherhood armour, is still simply a blob... they both look the same!

though on the account i am playing now... I have got more "Fashion Concious", I HAVE DIFFERENT COLOURED BLOBS NOW LMAO

Just a quick one, slightly off topic.

    It's RNG - Random Number Generator/Generation. Not R&G

At this point in time, Yes once the current ESO+ runs out. I am more than happy to stick around and hope for it to get back to what it was, but I simply cannot handle the errors and the mess as well as the work for no reward any more.

Truth be told I will miss everyone on here , but Single player games , OLD ones , Still on Disc lol, is where I actually enjoyed things.

Game came out, you bought it, and it Worked!!!! Might not have been great, but it worked. I really want to try Harpoon 3 again, been decades since i played it.

But heres hoping it gets sorted and turned around before then.... over a decade is hard to say bye bye to
