How do you pronounce Grahtwood?

It‘s GrAhtwood (like the last A in americA).
None of your options seem right. It‘s not like in cat or pet and it‘s definitely not an o like in not, not an ou like in though and there is no E, so it‘s neither Gratewood (like in mate)…

How do you pronounce the "raht" in "Dagi-raht" or Senche-raht? Its the same way for Grahtwood just with a G in front.

The last A in americA is pronounced "uh".

Bos in Bosmer is also Dutch, it means forest.

i do not hear the grot that other people chose, but coincidentally that is also a dutch word, it means cave.

I chose the middle option although it doesn't quite fit with how I pronounce it. To me it's more like a longer 'a'.

FWIW, I've always thought wood elves sound like Aussies, not Brits.

I'm British and have lived around London my whole life. I think my accent is just called 'home counties' (which is not Cockney or received pronunciation).

I'd say it so Graht rhymes with 'cart', not 'cat', with all the letter audible and a hard but short R and a soft T. Same with senche-raht.

"Grot wood" sounds weird to me. Reminds me of a certain swear word which British people say so it rhymes with 'that' but Americans turn the A into an O so it rhymes with 'Bot'.

To me a lot of wood elves (not all) just sound like Americans doing an impression of what they think is a British accent. I'm pretty sure they are American voice actors and I think they're trying for Cockney but to me it just sounds like an American slightly slurring their words, like they're biting the inside of their cheek while talking. Exactly like enthusiastic Americans trying to copy my accent when I'm over there. "Oh! Ey cayn speek Bri'ish! Fancy a cup a' tey?"

(IMO the test for anyone attempting a home counties accent should be asking them to say "Are you alright?" as a casual greeting. If the end result has more than 5 letters they're doing it wrong - it should be "ya'ite?")

Yup, the "aht" is a bit like the British way of saying "art" (no rolled r).

I've always been intrigued by the way they did the Bosmer accent btw. I got the impression they were trying to do the Australian accent, but who knows what they had in mind for this fictional culture.

I am an English speaker and I have never heard anyone pronounce cat as if the a was an e. That would make it sound like bet, or wet, or pet.

When I listen to that clip I hear Grot-wood, just like I do in the video @DenverRalphy posted.

I agree with you about cat, although South Africans may pronounce it as cet. and they may be rooted in Dutch.

I agree with the pronunciation of Grahtwood in the clip where graht sounds like heart and not remotely like the UK English pronunciation of grot - which may not be how Americans pronounce it as we are in danger in a thread like this of confusing American English with UK English. In the video it's grot, in the clip it's graht. The latter is how I pronounce it, in accordance with UK English.

The h to me makes sure that you pronounce the a like ah so yea always gr- ah- twood. Grot etc.

Ive to this day never done any dominion side quests because Im a Nord always, but I still recall hearing an npc somewhere pronounce it this way.

edit: Unless you're double pronouncing that a lol, gr- aht-wood like a sigh or "ahh i see." Thats how I say it.

Always pronounced it like cat. That won't change. It's one of those words I've read a lot but never knew how it was pronounced, so in my head I pronounced it how I thought it should sound. Now that it's in my head as Grahtwood (like cat), it'll stay that way.
