I feel like they should make the 30 dynamic events achievement increase the drop rate because I have done over a hundred and it still has not dropped.

Or make it the reward for the 30 dynamic events achievement and eliminate the RNG.

Is there a way to predict / track Dynamic Encounters or are people just hanging around?

I don't have as much game time as I used to, so I don't like the hanging around option! I just wondered if there was a timer or an add-on or a setting I'm missing (like the F5 for Skirmishes in the NM).

No way to predict /track Dynamic Encounters that I have found. I have heard folks say there is a 30-minute timer per encounter instance.

Welcome to RNG, where one person can get something after a few tries and another can try 100 times and have no luck. They really need to make some of these things have a higher drop rate.

Are these gems bound or can they be sold? I’m sick to death of doing the DE in Stonefalls but if I can only buy the recipe and not the gem then I have to keep doing them. I’m trying to decode how much gold would be worth just buying both so I can get on with my life.

    EDIt: autocorrect error

They are bound. It took 194 DEs for mine to drop

I was afraid of that but thanks for confirming.

I know it’s random, but I’m getting afraid that something is actually wrong with some of these people’s accounts that just aren’t getting it after hundreds of dynamic encounters. If all it is is the RNG they really need to increase the drop rate.

It's closer to 35 minutes, but yes, they're on a timer.
(I set a timer on my phone, and do dishes or other chores while I wait. My house is cleaner than it's been in years. :D )

The gem can drop from any of the chests. Has anyone gotten the recipe from anything but the final Stonefalls chest?

I'm also over 100 of the Stonefalls and Glenumbra dynamic encounters without a drop. It's so ridiculous.

I've been lucky here and have obtained 4 copies of the recipe so far. All have been from the final chest.

@ZOS_Kevin or anyone here at the forum give us an answer please? It's pretty bad when we can't even get a simple answer as to why this is happening... Well over a hundred DE chests looted. Nothing. It really feels broken. This can't possibly be just down to bad RNG. This is by far the worst time I've had trying to get a drop in 9+ years of playing.

I am not entitled to the gem dropping, but I wish that there was some bad luck protection like the associated achievements improving the drop rate.

ESO always had horribly inequitable loot drops. I'm convinced there's something fundamentally wrong with their maths, and I know I'm not the only one who believes that.

How hard can it be to put in some kind of override so you don't have to do the same content 100 times?

Personally, I have stopped worrying about it. I just won't do content that works like this. Eventually there'll be nothing left to do and I'll be another player, here since the start, gone from the game.

I still haven't gotten the gem of agility. I am wondering if it has anything to do with the issue I had with the Prowler's Talisman:

    1. I started the new Thieves Guild quest in Glenumbra using my thief character that had completed the Thieves Guild quests in Hew's Bane. When I should have received the Prowler's Amulet, it wasn't part of the quest rewards.
    2. I then had to do the first part of the Thieves Guild quest in Glenumbra on a second character which received the amulet.
    3. I transferred the amulet to my thief character and finished the Thieves Guild quest. I did receive the gem of stealth as part of the quest line, so that did drop on my thief character.

I am now wondering if the fact that the gem of agility doesn't drop for my thief character has anything to do with the fact that the amulet wasn't part of the rewards early in the quest line.

I have tried of couple of runs on the character that received the amulet as part of the quest, but so far it didn't drop on that one either. But maybe that is the case as I haven't finished the thieves guild quest line in Glenumbra.

Got it today at my 105 try. It was in auridon in the first chest inside the building.

Dynamic events absolutely have nothing dynamic in them.

There is way too much difference between who is lucky and who isen't.
ZOS at least make the gems purchasable so desperate people can grind for gold and get it.

Sorry for the double post but i wanted to answer.

Some people dropped the green gem before doing the thieves guild quest so it shoulden't be a problem.

I did 10 more last night and still no gem. I think I’m done and perhaps it’s time for a break from the game. There’s nothing dynamic about these world events, it’s just a really boring grind. Really disappointed and feel pretty disrespected by the waste of time.

I agree with Silaf, unfortunately. I did the thieves quest straight through, no bugs.
I've been at the Stonefalls encounter with a timer on (doing chores between) for days, 10 hours a day. No gem.
But I've gotten 3 recipes. A friend got the gem on the first or second day, no recipe. The RNG in this game is so messed up.
ESO always had horribly inequitable loot drops. I'm convinced there's something fundamentally wrong with their maths, and I know I'm not the only one who believes that.
/Raises hand. Very wrong, deep in the maths. Maybe in the RNG software itself. And there is no doubt that some people have much, much better RNG than others. I know someone who got a rare painting at least every 5th run through vLC. And that's always true for him. He furnishes so many of his friends houses, since he's not into housing.
My stickerbook is full from vLC, and I got 1 painting.

(ETA:) I know there are always outliers in RNG. Which is why I've been asking for weighted RNG for years. But this is beyond outliers.

Good to hear that it seems to not be related to the bug of the amulet not dropping.

The weird thing is that I have excellent RNG for the Eel Pie Recipe. Had it on the second run and got another one today.

This is a good idea. Anyone who's grinded out 30 of the events has EARNED the agility gem.

That's an average of 15 minutes (about 30 minutes for respawn), times 30. 450 minutes, or SEVEN AND A HALF HOUR of just waiting for the respawn.
Why did they think that was a good idea?

Oh and those seven and a half hours wasted do mean nothing. You might need to add another dozen or one hundred hours, until the gem drops. Pure evil game design.

It just depends on your luck. On the NA server I got it in less than 10 dynamic encounters. On the EU server, I am over 100 for sure and still haven't gotten it. That's why RNG continues to be a terrible way to dole out items. Tie drops to achievements or put in a pity bonus each time something doesn't drop. No one should have to farm these lengthy-wait events for a gem that doesn't make anyone overpowered.

They simply refuse to learn from past rng issues. The anniversary event with the special style pages. The writhing wall event where the rng was bugged for some of the drops needed to complete the event dailies (I believe this was also true for the Necrom community event). New Breton furnishings that some players simply cannot attain with any level of effort, but are clearly dropping for others from the listings.

And on and on, it just creates a terrible experience for players who don't have the right seed or have a cursed account or whatever we wanna call it - particularly when the task involved is trivial and not even remotely fun or engaging to repeat endlessly. Give me something fun and challenging to do and I'll grind the heck out of it for a rare drop. But make the game feel like work and I'll run to something more fun.

the way i would do it is that your probability goes up to get it the longer it doesnt drop so you are at least working towards something

Another way is to break it up in fragments to combine and make them more common.
The extreme disparity between lucky players and unlucky one only happen with microscopic drop chances fragments can prevent it forcing the player to farm bud dropping somthing more regularly.

I just got a gem (from the second chest in the Stonefalls encounter). Since Encounters was released, I’ve done a little over 30 of them (I unlocked the achievement for 30 encounters today, and after that I did a few more—about 3 or so). So I guess I’ve been lucky with gem, but still no recipe.
