Has your use of Overland Difficulty changed?

    I am using difficulty more
Only playing on Master/Vestige mode - it is what brought me back to the game. For Overland/Quest as well as assassin / ledger main content builds (like one shot NPCs from stealth with specific conditions) etc etc is what keeps me busy again. Have been doing Shada's Tear in craglorn solo on vestige - 4 hours of content. Simply some good immersion and a reason to theory craft in actual elder scrolls lore/quest and exploration content which was 100% dead for me before that.

I am using difficulty about the same
I thought that after I was done with the achievements I was just going to use Vestige for 'story content' and go back to Adventurer for everything else (there is a lot of content that is wildly overtuned for Vestige considering that the 'design ethos' is 'get through this as fast as humanly possible because you are going to have to do it hundreds of times more').

However I find that 'Seasoned' or even 'Master' for some stuff is quite serviceable too and helps me level up a bit faster on the accounts that still need such things without going out of my way to farm XP (which I loathe).

All in all quite happy that they added the system to the game in such fashion that no one feels like they are missing out if this is not their thing.

I only used a higher overland difficulty during the Golden Pursuits. That new Overland Difficulty feature definitely wasn't designed with me in mind (how dare they!)...

    I have never used difficulty
It just seems ludicrous to wear all gold maxed out gear , Maxed out CP , and just add hit points/add damage. If that is the case ZOS should have just made training dummies to fights back. They could have even sold it. I laugh out loud to think someone is one on One with a wolf or skeleton. Dang that wasp got me..!?! Absurd.

If you really want overland difficulty, then take all that off all that maxed out CP/gear , go naked , fight , or use white or green Rubidite gear that you find. Plenty of options there. Does anyone actually use the green gear past level 10? Well ,here is a good use for it. You don't need a damage scaler , you don't need your own instance. You just need to use your imagination. Oh and those skills, nope, have 1 maybe 2 skills and no healing, find a potion..etc. Overland difficulty has always been in the game. What this is , a full blow race car limited to 1 liter of gas in it (damage scaler).

did it for some achievements but there is no point to it. The difference in rewards is negligible. I still see plenty of people just running past all the overland mobs.

And since Overland is NOT the emphasis of the game I don't understand why so much effort was put into this to sooth a vocal Minority of players.

There are quite a few people - myself included - that found one-shotting (where possible, many have unskippable phases) story bosses jarring.

I for one appreciate the effort and I am in fact slowly and deliberately - as to 'savour' the experience - going through all the available story content with a 'fresh' character in Vestige difficulty and enjoying it.

Not the only reason to appreciate the added 'slider' mind you, but it is one of them.

I never needed (or wanted tbh, as mentioned before I am quite happy that no one feels like they are missing out) additional rewards.

The majority of players is using it according to this poll - the minority is you ;) In my case it brought players back to the game. Tho I am a progressive tryhard PvP player and dungeon nerd as well, after all, the damn emphasis of any ES game is lore/land exploration. So [snip] are you talking about, that's toxic [snip]. Besides that: the current implementation was an almost 0 effort low hanging fruit as already reported a 1000 times in the older overland thread.

I don't have all the achievements yet. Once I do, I'll likely turn it off entirely. My time is too precious to me to spend any more of it killing trash mobs than 100% necessary.

Maybe if they halved the number of mobs in overland zones, I'd turn it on. But probably not. I'd rather trash just be trash.

    Do i use it? Ya.

Has how I use it changed? Ya.

To me vestige is too tedious and outside of obtaining certian achievements or goals. It just takes too much time to solo things, and the rewards are just not there for me.

The experience gain on vestige is only worth it if you are grouped with someone on adventurer and you have a mob farm location to yourself.

I use Master to test builds for solo arenas because dummies don't fight back.

Outside of that, I stick with seasoned. I don't see any downside to seasoned as its still beneficial, but i rarely notice the difference on most of my characters. Its a set and forget difficulty setting for me, and will probably stay there unless things change.

I ended up adjusting my build to work with vestige difficulty. I de-emphasized single-target DPS and instead focused on tankiness, self-healing, and AOE/DOTs. There are definitely still attacks here or there that insta-kill me, even with 40k HP and damage shields and I certainly can't survive long solo against world bosses or similarly strong enemies. But it is fun to engage with overland content with an actual build in mind.
