No Longer Can See PvP Opponent CP Rankings?

This was perhaps an Update 50 issue, however, I can no longer see PvP opponent CP Rankings. This revised nameplate format using Veterancy Ranks loses useful information. For example (as I understand it), a player displayed as Veterancy Level 5 could be someone who has only earned five levels this season or someone who has already completed an entire Veterancy cycle and is effectively at Level 105. Those two players appear identical, making the displayed rank much less meaningful.

The old Champion Point display wasn't a measure of PvP skill, but it did provide a useful indication regarding long-term account progression, whether to engage, withdrawal, group strength, etc. The current Veterancy display doesn't reliably communicate either seasonal progress or overall experience. Did I miss an options setting or an Addon that can restore CP visibility?

Lol it's not that complicated, the devs intentionally replaced CP with Veterancy ranks so you know who has been active in PvP for the season. And there is no level 105, you only have 1 rank, so I have no idea where you got the idea of someone being either level 5 or 105. Now you can't target people based on their CP anymore. It's not like it really mattered, since Alliance Rank is still shown. And everyone knows AR is not a good indicator of skill either. Also most hardcore pvper use an addon called squishy finder to find weak players, if you couldn't tell from their HP amounts or their playstyle.

So that's why so many people come to me and die. At lower HP I am more dangerous. More agile. And I still fire siege.

It was occasionally useful but I don't need it. However, seeing their Veterancy level and title is distracting, because I'm used to the name being the leftmost text and it's hard to tell where the title ends and the name begins.

I mean, when you engage an opponent and you see CP 3000, that immediately provides valuable information. However, "53 Brutal Freelancer III" (or something similar), tells you exactly nothing.

Whatever. I suppose the PvP community has bigger problems at the moment.

To be honest none of those tell you how good a player is, they just tell you how much they have been playing. People can get to cp 3600, vengeance rank 100, and grand overlord and still be complete potatoes. If they spend all that time firing siege, it doesn’t really help them 1v1 you.

I really dislike the change. Why is there a symbol AND the veterancy rank name?! There should be the symbol and CP shown.
