Overload, Lightning Yellow (Feedback)

Okay. Lightning Yellow is a color scheme I’ve been dreaming of for my Sorcerer from the second Skill Styling became a thing…

Needless to say, when I saw Overload was getting a yellow skill style, I was ecstatic. Impulse buying it due to it’s FOMO countdown, I raced to our guild hall and proceeded to call all of my friends in to come check it out…

I activated the Skill Style and morphed my Overload to Energy Overload, and proceeded to activate it… and WOW it is exactly what I wanted… YELLOW LIGHTNING.

Then I fired off a Light Attack.

Blue? Blue!!!!! Why is it blue???

Firing off your Light Attacks and Heavy Attacks is how you use Overload, so it goes without saying that a Skill Style for it should carry the color throughout the entire skill, not just your idle animation.

So why am I firing blue attacks out of a yellow skill? Well… in the description, it says, “Does not apply to light or heavy attacks.” but why?

Is there a specific reason why this was not possible, and if it is possible, what would it take to correct this?

Overload, Lightning Yellow pt.2?
Overload, Lightning Yellow Plus?
Overload, Lightning Yellow Premium?

Please just finish the style.

While we’re at it, if you’re using Malacath Grim Focus, you still have a red glow even though your skill isn’t red any more, and when you activate a Blue Arcanist skill it creates Green Crux?

Why are these styles like this?

Skill Styles need to be a complete override color-wise, they look horrible right now as they can’t match themes, like Yellow and Blue, these are two separate primary colors and do NOT look great together…

i assume it is because Light and Heavy attacks are not skills.
With Grim Focus it is probably like Arcanist Crux, which also does not change.

i hope ZOS can figure out how to style those things in the future, but for now it seems to be a limitation.

What I really want is the green skill style for unstable barrier, but it’s locked behind so many veteran achievements for a dungeon that I’ll probably never get it. But if I did get it, I would be then be sad that the lightning staff light and heavy attacks could not be green as well, so maybe it’s just not meant to be for me.

But the thing is, the overload light and heavy attacks aren't normal light and heavy attacks from any basic weapons. It's literally an override, the only complete light and heavy attack override from an ultimate in the game.

So it's literally ultimate specific, which means they do know that skills affect them. Which in turns means that they can edit the skill effecting them. Which means In this case, there is no way this is a limitation problem. It has to be laziness.

Another skill style we cannot preview. Why? It makes no sense. I want to see how it looks before I get it.

Is it a result of crunch? Was there not enough time to add it in before sale?

Well… why not add it now?

Imagine how many people bought this and are unhappy about it, or skipped buying it altogether because it doesn’t do what it should.

We also need the ability to preview these Crown skill styles like we can with the crate ones. We couldn't preview this one nor the Boneyard one recently.

Hi all, just following up on this. We agree this one missed the mark. While we had a fix planned for this, we did not catch the mismatch between when the fix would be on Live and when the skill style was releasing until now. This skill style will apply to light and heavy attacks once the fix goes live with U51. It will also be preview-able at that time. We'll talk with the team that manages the Crown Store to bring this item back shortly after its fix has been live as well.

See, easy communication, easy fix and you just got another player buying the skill style. Sometimes clarification and honesty goes a long way.

Thank you for this. And not to be snarky, but can we please get some communication on similar changes for the many grim focus skills? I know I was about to buy the premium track just to get the green from focus, but the second u saw it STILL had a red glow I opted to just not get the premium track at all.

Yeah. I bought this and made me trust skill styles a whole lot less.
