Will there be combat changes? Please let us know if elder ww online continues....

There will be minor WW combat changes and fixes. Not a ton, but there will be some adjustments.

Just please don't break PvE because of people complaining in PvP. Werewolf PvE suffered from Update 35 to Update 50 with nerf after nerf, and is finally fun to play again. If there's something wrong in PvP (like bad item combos) then please fix PvP (by maybe limiting certain sets with WW).

Kevin, I'm trying really hard to not read your statement as "here come the nerfs."

Greymoor turned WW into something that was fun and viable, PvP players would just not shut up about WW until it was nerfed into a meme where it remained for the best part of five years.

Let's see if they can achieve the same feat a 2nd time.

This, please. WW in PvE is one nerf away from meme status again due to many weaknesses still being present. It's perfect the way it is in PvE, don't ruin this.

    @ZOS_Kevin

Respectfully, please let us know if ‘Elder Dragons Online’ continues /s (though I have many, many Cyro screenshots of ~3 werewolves and mostly flames surrounding pure DKs or subclassed DKs).

I hope these changes are incredibly minor. The combat team seems to be driving this game towards high sustain and ergo werewolf would not maintain anything overbearingly special once reworks are done, for PvP.

My speed is nearly worthless as I have no major expo kit or more importantly a snare removal (which I’m not saying is something that should be added but rather considered that we lack).

My bite tooltips for only 10% more than surprise attack and they both proc the same status effect; the healing on the bite is simply a side effect of my inability to access any natural hot and that my burst health took a 20%-30% hit from last live (less sustained HPS from my ‘on-demand’ options)

Werewolf’s damage isn’t even relevant PvP damage on properly geared and high sustain players (often including groups with as little as one healer) as it contains no burst but pressure which any class is capable of alongside the potential for burst damage. I have a plethora of screenshots and clips right now showing that DKs are relatively consistently hitting for anywhere from 15-22k with power lash (on a 30k+ resist opponent) and that excludes any other potential burst damage from flames of oblivion, core of flame, etc.

I really don’t like how we seem to catch nothing but nerfs meanwhile everyone seems to remain so understanding for a reworked class like DK which beats werewolf out in many areas, in spades. It’s unbelievably exhausting that every time I hear about a prospective change, it’s almost guaranteed to be a nerf with little or nothing in return.

I mean, PLEASE don’t invalidate werewolf in PvP for potentially some top-end complaining that everyone magically floats into the sky, survives forever, and reigns damage of destruction over the land immediately upon transforming into werewolf (obviously exaggerating but some believe something very similar).

If we receive nerfs here or lose even more, I want QoL and/or I finally want to know why we are being nerfed so it can have a quantifiable ‘end point’ (no like really, I need a viable reason that takes many factors into consideration and not just ‘because we felt like…’)

It’s too much for me, any time we receive buffs (even this last PTS was an example) we receive very harsh and expedient nerfs/value adjustments. I cannot do ‘it’. With everything looming, I won’t do ‘it’ anymore if this and what’s to come is ANYTHING more than ‘minor’.

Hi all. Just some follow up here. The team has located the issue that was preventing the recipe for Granny's Eel Pie from having a chance to drop and we have a fix for this issue that will be coming in our next incremental build for U50. And while it will still be rare, we will also be increasing the chance for the recipe to drop due to this issue.

Right, I agree. DKs are running around literally going near-invincible, restoring all their resources, and whipping people casually with 20k+ whips on top of up to around 10k CoE, 10k Flames, and potentially fossilize, regardless of resistance.

Running under 35-40k health can’t even be a consideration for even the most knowledgeable of players right now with the current state of DK and, likewise and likely, the upcoming state of Warden; this unless you just feel like having a strong chance of your healthbar breaking with 1 or 2 properly built DKs on you.

Honestly if all we are going to get is the ''''balance'''' swings the combat team has been known for, now every incremental instead of every major patch, without the teams that were bringing the nice stuff to mitigate it - like the QoL team for instance who were doing Z'en's work - what is the point?

Either way enough of OT, sorry.

Just wanted to follow up here on the main topic of this thread. As a sneak peak for patch notes on Monday, here is the patch note related to the Granny's Eel Pie Recipe:

"Fixed an issue that prevented the Red Lichen ingredient and the Recipe for Granny's Eel Pie from having a chance to drop in the Bilsa's Delivery dynamic encounter in Stonefalls as intended. While still rare, the chance for the recipe to drop has also been increased."

Well, I hope I am wrong, but if history is a teacher, then "some adjustments" most likely means a nerf hammer. I mean, when it comes to WW & patch notes in the past even something like "small incremental changes" usually meant substantial nerfs.

My prediction is that they will disable class mastery passives in WW form, effectively killing a lot of builds & forcing every WW build into sub-classing again...

It is kinda sad, since WW got overhauled and a lot of work was put into making them interesting & fun to play in PvE. And now it seems like the only thing they will have left will be visual model (which is really nice tbh).

And of course - warden class mastery passives, the very thing that made that one PVP WW build OP will stay untouched.

@ZOS_Kevin - is the remaining combat team fully aware of how this haphazard balancing (potent and frequent ‘hits’ to werewolf versus no changes to DK, for example) feels (both gameplay and by extension for a level of stability) to werewolf-enthusiasts and other players that simply just want to play werewolf and not feel like they are on a ‘meme spec’ as so many against viable werewolf play have openly stated they believe it should be?

It’s bad when you have a list of people here (directly above this comment) who roundabout already know what to expect with the ‘changes’ and likely those in U51 as well (and are mostly in disagreement with these, it seems). Even Tommy ‘knows a thing or two’ (not saying he doesn’t normally; saying I consider his perspective here ‘neutral’) on how you all have historically werewolf handled balance.

    My questions here are:

If it’s in a decent state now with an understandable metric ton of limitations, why are we throwing more ‘darts-at-a-board style nerfs’ on the spec with further reworks upcoming (which will naturally shift interest and ‘meta’ over time)?

What was the point of allocating so many resources to recreating werewolf almost anew just to place it back in the hands of the very few dedicated players that were remaining and still playing it before (as I imagine prior lack of viability/efficiency was the prime reason for this)?
