Please Fix Tattoos on Vampires.

Hey, I have a Khajiit thief character who is a vampire and I think this is a good opportunity to bring this up since they are working on vampire. Vamp tattoos, especially on Kahjiit, just don't show up well. Almost at all really. The ones that do are just the glowy ones, which makes it really tough for vampires if they want any other tattoos. This is a heavy rp character in particular who is very much a killer and a thief. I would like my character to have some really hard looking tatts to go along with that theme. Here is what Tattoos look like on a Khajiit Vampire, if you were unaware. The lighting is blue, but very good. It doesn't look clearer anywhere else.

Here is Psijic and it's here to show off that glowy ones or whiter ones do show.

This one is is to show off what even an iridescent red one will show up as.

The rest of these are all Tattoos I want on my character and would be under consideration, but you will see why I can't use them.

So I really hope they are going to change this soon. It's one thing to be pale, it's quite another to take away the ability to see regular Tatoos on the standard optimized thieving toon, or any other toon for that matter. We should really be able to see cosmetics through that.

I hope they keep the option to have "pale" tattoos because I chose a tattoo for my vampire based on how it looks now, and I quite like it.

It would be nice to have the option if you wanted it. I know in SWTOR they had an option to hide Dark Side Corruption which is similar. I simple little box to tick somewhere would be nice.

I suspect what’s happening is that the vampirism overlay takes up the “skin” slot (hence why applying a skin hides vampirism). The skin slot is applied over the body markings slot. What would be nice is if they were to add a “body texture” slot that goes under the “skin” slot where vampirism, beastfolk scale/fur patterns, and the elf/man skin textures can go. The downsides would be that people who like paler body markings or use a skin to hide vampirism would have their characters changed. But we also would benefit from a “hide vampirism” option anyway (it’s not like it is necessary to see vampirism in, say, pvp… you can just wear full armor and no one would know), so then it’s down to liking the pale body markings (which could be replicated by making a pale skin. Like the scalecaller peak skin, though that one also gives you hella skincare & necromantic body markings).

I suspect something like it going in the skin slot is what is going on, but it's probably it's own slot. When if it weren't a simple option to hide it would be lovely.

I guess I can't edit or delete posts anymore, so that's great. Anyway. I mistyped. I meant to say that "Even if it weren't, a simple "hide paleness" option would be lovely. And it really cannot take up a slot of something else.

Edit on 7/18/26: I was able to locate it the "edit" option for the post. It is completely invisible and has about a 10 pixels by 10 pixels where I can actually click it if I am being generous. It feels more like just a couple pixels. Maybe ZoS should fix that too.

Sometimes you have to hover your cursor in weird spots to get the edit button to show up.

But I also support this endeavor. There's also some eye cosmetics that also just DON'T show up on vampires, which is rather sad (and also why I don't get them).
