Why Favor outpost rewards are so poor?

My last Favor "reward" was a cheap green furnishing schematic that I already have for around 4 years, ONE unit of useless "tea" drink, one absolutely trash gear piece of no-set (a hat) and ONE unit of lowest level food.

What is this? Some weird joke? There is no possibility whatsoever to give us AT LEAST some piece of useful material, AT LEAST one overland/craftable gear set item? At LEAST a blue furnishing schematic?

Really, I wonder why waste time doing this "favors" for nothing...

I haven't had any furnishing antiquity leads yet, but did get a number of mythic leads. I also got some green furnishing plans, most were older, cheap plans, but one was a new Breton one. Most coffers do give fairly boring rewards though, so they really can vary.

They could at least remove the "junk" rewards like the white food.

It's actively more work than reward to open the boxes because of needing to scroll through the inventory to delete or sell these worthless filler consumables. (The white potions are helpful.)

You can't even sort by new to sell them, because after opening the container, you return to the inventory screen, which marks them as not-new at the merchant. So you have to remember which item it was and dig until you find it. Not just unrewarding, but slightly punishing.

There are some decent leads I've noticed, I can't remember how hard some of them were to get at this point. They are basically no skill fetch quests a level 1 could mostly do.

The major reason I do them is for the story in the letters.

I've also gotten quite a few things. I've got a bunch of leads - even for the ancestral motifs, which normally have a low chance drop from treasure chests. I've gotten furnishings I didn't have. And while the set pieces I normally already have in my stickerbook (because they're from overland), I can still decon them or sell them to a vendor.

It sounds like the favors system might not be for you. And that's okay. I will say that if you need dungeon, trial, arena sets - those can drop from the dynamic encounters.

Not everything is aimed at players who have years of playtime under their belt. There have been a few things added recently that seem aimed at helping newer players get quicker completion on various things that can be collected.

The sheer size of the game can be quite daunting for newbies to tackle, especially the more casually minded.

It amazes me how some players can get new and spectacular loot and all I get is vendor garbage.

I’ve got a few gold leads that I did actually dig up but let’s face it, antiquities have been out for years and if you’ve been playing much at all during that time, you have all of the base game codex by now, with few exceptions.

Favors are just the new zone guide to lead you to other things to do in the game, they are not meant to be reward heavy.
