I never seen something so half-baked in ESO as this... season ONE of thieves?

Yeah, despite my constant criticism of stuff in ESO, I'm really sorry for the terrible layoff of good talents at ZOS.

And I assume this "new" stuff's plethora of half-baked events and sad problems -- and the TOTAL LACK of the usual fixes that ALWAYS came to ESO just after every release and updates -- is a direct result of the tragic situation on ZOS.

BUT as someone who play ESO for almost 8 YEARS and have 11,810 hours of playtime I think I have the right to ask for an improvement in the game ASAP.

ESO is a gigantic game and need constant support. I hope soon ZOS will overcome (somehow) the absurd loss of so many good professionals and give us some help. ESO deserves it.

I think you're a bit confused on the new content release schedule. Content has been decoupled from actual patches/updates. We are still getting quarterly updates, with U51 coming soon. In years past, we would have never gotten new quests in the middle of the summer like this.

Going forward, new content is being released in smaller batches throughout the year. Patches, including balance changes and fixes, are being released on the same schedule as before (Q1-Q4). We're still mid patch cycle.

This same schedule has been happening all year. For example, Night Market did not release at the same time as a balance patch. The balance patch released, then Night Market came out, the another balance patch released later on.

If you're referring to hotfixing the things that came out during this season, give em another week. I'm sure theyre coming but they're literally restructuring the entire organization and dealing with fallout from losing hundreds of employees. It's barely been a week since the season dropped.

I've played for years. Done the main quest and a few zone quest. Only encounter an quest bug or two over that time.

This new thieves quest is shocklly buggy. I used my stealth build that reduce detect radius to zero. I've had guards push me out of the way without seeing me. This build reviled some strange bugs, like the one NPC that triggers an bounty, but no breaking stealth. Turns out there is separate see and detect players in stealth settings in the server code. Also, none of the "lamp" holding NPCs in that house is triggering the circle of 100% detect "pot". It looks like someone forgot to set that up, but for us players, that is a huge oversight on our behalf as it make doing that part of the quest a lot easor then using all the "hide" curtions and basket to wait for the guard npc to pass by.

After getting past that part of the quest, Bastion talk to me like he requed me. I'me what the hell are you talking about, I got through the house without getting seen or killed.

You get those two statements are in conflict, right?! The flaws in Season One were from the work done before the layoffs by the "good professionals".

I have to admit, I was a bit less sympathetic to what's recently happened after seeing Season 1 first hand. It's pretty much what I think about while waiting and waiting and waiting for dynamic events. Now it's not even repetitive tasks taking our time. It's literally waiting to play the game after logging into the game. No needed rewards should be dropping from events you have to wait 30 minutes in game before you can even play the content.

It's funny (in a bad way) that on some days I'm logged into ESO for an hour but only get to play for 10 minutes. The rest of the time is waiting around. I'm hoping the prowler talisman gem drops by the time I finish the achievements (and any nowhere keys, but at they least drop from other sources).

I don't understand why they didn't add timers for these events. Other MMOs have had dynamic events for years and all have a timer or some type of announcement when an event is about to start. Don't they check out other games to see what they're doing?

Apart from that, I'm enjoying the thieves guild line and the small stuff like favours.

Ehm... you are aware this content was delivered by the full force which has now been laid off, right? So, things may only get slower/worse. The latest content was in no way affected by the layoffs. Even the next one may be only a bit impacted. The true impact will be felt next year.

Don't care. This event is so poorly put together it's not worth doing.

I'm getting some motifs, antiquity leads, and furnishing plan drops that are "new" to my master crafter from the drops I am getting by doing the event. So far (knock on wood) I have not had any "bug" occur that I could not work around. Probably an unpopular opinion around these forums, but:

Thanks, ZOS, for Season One of Thieves!

While overall I’ve been enjoying the content we’ve received this year, the dynamic encounters are complete garbage. The primary activity is waiting. When they do spawn it’s just follow the dot on the map, spam a few skills and open a chest. Drops rates of style pages and the recipe are very low - I’m at 22 done so far with 2 style page drops. The recipe drop is bugged on Xbox NA. Really one of the worst things they’ve cooked up in recent memory.

I hope we don’t get more of this junk and if we do, I hope it’s completely redesigned. At a minimum they should have a countdown timer like the skirmishes in night market. As designed, they are just really disrespectful of players’ time.

In 10 years of playing, I don't think I've ever been this bored, frustrated and disappointed during an event.

The 'dynamic' encounters are anything but, and pretty much everything that drops is recycled content.
They are set up in just 3 zones, and they are the ones you most likely clear first in the game, so there's
nothing to do while waiting for an encounter to start. You can't monitor their spawn if you leave that
zone so unless you hang around you'll likely miss them.
