Are nowhere keys even real?

I completed Thieves guild quest line, farmed about 40 Treasure Chests, 15 Thieve Troves and about 150 Lockboxes(safebox) because I decided to finish Larcenist achievements.
Got 0 Nowhere Keys.
So I can confirm it's simply not in the game.
And the Planar Key is probably just a super rare temporary placeholder drop.

The Nowhere Vault isn't in the game yet, but the Keys for it are dropping and currently named Unformed Planar Keys. They're supposed to be dropping more frequently than they currently are, though, and I believe word's being passed to folks tomorrow about it.

I believe they either a) added the Challenge for actual Nowhere Keys too soon, or more likely, b) they just forgot to call them Unformed Planar Keys for the time being.

I've apparently found three according to the Tome but I only have one - I assume Dustman must have somehow sold the others. These things being 0 value and sellable is a really wild decision IMO.

Ok I just came here to find out about this. I have found only one as well, but the Challenge says 3.

I've done the Thieves Guild questline, and the ones found there did NOT count towards the Challenge.

I haven't done the Thieves Guild questline yet, only the first quest which didn't involve finding any keys. So it definitely auto-sold. Which is weird, because I had had the first one in my inventory for a while before I noticed it and it didn't sell (I saw here in this thread that they can be sold so I banked it afterward), so I'm not sure why the other two have vanished. Unless...bug? I also never saw any of them in my loot log. Argh, so many treasure maps...

I know you guys are busy with stuff, but can it be passed along that on top of not dropping like they should be, the Planar Keys being sellable is also an issue? They really need to have the 0 Gold worth removed, as these shouldn't be something people can end up vendoring/trashing without even realizing they got them.

Could it be bugged? Like I'm sure it must be more than a coincidence that we all somehow have 3 keys logged to the challenge and all somehow have 1 key in our inventory?

Fun fact, you get credit for a key if you have one and put it in the bank, withdraw it from the bank, put it in a storage box, take it out of a storage box, etc. I have only found one key, and I now have credit for all 10 of them after moving it around.

Same for me. I have one of those unformed planar keys, but according to the tome seasonal challenge, I have already collected two. And I have checked all my character's inventory, the merchant buy back tab and my backpack, but I only have one.

Ah, that might have been the case. I have put the one I got in the bank to keep it safe from selling or destroying it by accident. Seems a bug that can be exploit, so be very careful with doing this.

Still at 0 despite doing content constantly that's supposed to drop it. I refuse to belive that the drop chance is this low, it has to be bugged.

Day three of solid farming for these and haven't had a single one drop from any of the sources. I think I'll switch to an alt account and see if I have any luck, if not that's me done- it's too hot for this nonsense

If it duplicated the actual keys, yeah, definitely a 'be careful' thing.

The fact that all it does is make the counter go up in the tome 'challenges', a counter that is expected to go up and is not going up because the drops are very obviously bugged, It would be pretty outrageous if they decided to take action about this.

In an amazing stoke of luck, I managed to get an Unformed Planar Key from a Thieves Trove in The Rift! The drop rate currently must be extremely low which I hope is fixed soon.

I got one of these keys today from, I think, the Stonefalls dynamic event. So they exist. It doesn't say it's a 'nowhere key'. It says it's an unformed planar key. The description just says to hang onto it and see what it turns into. There is no option to use the key. It's hang onto it or destroy it, and there's no way I'm destroying it.

Example 1 : Unformed Planar Key from Stonefalls Dynamic Encounter - final chest

Example 2 : Unformed Planar Key from Thieves Trove, Telvanni Peninsular.

I only managed to get these 2 to drop. Then I spent the past 2 days farming Chests, Thieves Troves, Safeboxes, Heavy Sacks doing full map runs (ie hit EVERY SINGLE SPOT - thank god for minimap and harvestmap and staymounted add-ons) in Bal Foyen, Telvanni P, Stonefalls, Glenumbra, but failed to get any more. Also continued to do all 3 Dynamic Events with my friends for 2 hours per day during ET night hours. Probably 6 hours solo and 4 hours DE, in total over 2 days. So i did the bank trick instead. I did my time. I paid my dues.

This might explain why the challenges list I have the 10 keys when all I have is the one Unformed Planar key. I moved it around a lot when I first got it trying to make it work.I finally just shoved it in my storage and gave up on the event. I deleted all the quests and am not finishing the challenges.

I really don't like when I can't understand how things work and right now I don't understand a lot of this event. The keys are just a small part, I don't understand the Guild Finder thing either.

Easier just to drop out rather than be continually frustrated.

Based on what I have read in the many posts about this subject, I suspect keys may ONLY be dropping in Stonefalls, and possibly ONLY from Console.

It is definitely not only from Stonefalls and not only on console, as I am on PC EU.

I found one key (the only one I have found so far) before I stepped foot into Stonefalls. I cannot say if it was from the Glenumbra dynamic encounter or a container somewhere, as I have loot log disabled, but those would have been the only possibilities on the day I found it.

I’ve gotten 1 from thieves trove in Glenumbra. That was after I opened 120 troves in Glenumbra. And only key so far, 0 dropped from 145 DEs. Along with no agility gem or granny recipe.

I got one on PC, assuming the unfinished planar keys are what's counting. Pretty sure I got it from the Stonefalls dynamic event.

I’ve been doing the dynamic encounters on a character that did not do the new thieves guild quest. I just discovered it’s been postulated that the gem for the prowler’s talisman won’t drop for that character. I’m wondering if this is true, and if this also applies to nowhere keys.
