I find it difficult to believe they respawn every ~15 minutes tbh, I'd go to some of the really remote spots in a zone to look for them, during off-peak hours, and still rarely see them.
If you're looking for the armory leads, I had one drop in a Hew's Bane thieves trove.
Kind of a mixed bag on those questions, but I'll try to take them in order.
1. The weekly challenge for looting Thieves Troves also counts Treasure Chests and Safeboxes. If a Thieves Trove is specifically needed (a fragment, for example), then only a Thieves Trove will do. There are a couple or three dozen in Glenumbra, they respawn every 15-ish minutes (not less than 10, I think, but no more than 20) and the only reason they might be a problem is because they are the sole source for something, kind of like Nirncrux in Craglorn resource nodes or part of the Ring of the Pale Order from Bangkorai Treasure Chests.
2. There is a bit of a trick to the Heists. It can be partially solved by subclassing Nightblade, with Roguish Stealth Draughts or other potions, with Stage 4 Vampirism, stealth gear sets, stealth cost/speed reducers, and similar. The trick is that you really only need to remain undetected on the way in to the goodies to maximize the timer. Once you've got the goodies (the placement of which is a function of RNG, so that part bites), pop those potions, spam that Shadow Cloak, or whatever to allow you the speediest exit possible while avoiding the torch and lantern guys. It's a one-minute timer penalty each time you're detected. As long as you get back to Fa'ren-dar with all the loot and with time left, you get the purple coffer and an extra +10 rep. Get back with the main objective and you'll get some goodies and +10 guild rep regardless of the timer. As far as the weekly challenge goes, it's no-fail. You only miss the purple coffer and extra rep by not beating the clock.
3. Can't help with that; it's an MMO and other players do as other players do.
4. You can abandon the Heist and reacquire to hopefully get a more favorable objective placement. I find that to be a bit of a pain because the completion is my main objective and the the purple coffer and extra rep are gravy.
I want my games to be FUN not frustrating. There's not enough thieves troves vs the population of players. We're supposed to loot thieves troves in glenumbra so do safeboxes count?
Im just a bit depressed cos i love the whole thieves guild theme and storyline but some things just upset me.
The heists timer is impossible for me to beat. We got 5 maps and different possible spawn points but not enough time. I am wearing the right sets, got cp points,..plenty of speed and can stealth easily. I know how to avoid guards and disarm traps but my memory is not great to remember every map. I dont want to kill guards or other npcs i am a thief. I complete my quest f8r the heist but just cant beat timer.
Also my immersion gets broken by players running around killing everything instead of stealthing or some wearing bright tail feathers and being half naked is annoying.
Even if we could choose one map for all our heists until we learn it but to get 5 differsnt ones oof.

I've never liked the thieve's guild, so many of these issues. I agree about the breaking the immersion. I would be sneaking doing my job with the questline and people come in and just start killing everything and somehow I get spotted? I also hate pickpocketing. Sometimes it's successful, but other times it's 100% and still get caught, and I'm practically invisible so....what gives. It's like the lock picking. Breaking an advanced lock at 85% with success, breaking a simple lock at 90% somehow lockpick breaks.

You'll be so fast that when moving while sneaking the animation actually has you standing (rather than hunched) and jogging.
