Can't log in "patch required" but system says up to date?

I play on ps5, and the game is not letting me log in.
It says "patch required. Please download and install to access online features". But when I check for an update, it says I have the latest version. I was just online yesterday.

I'm having the same problem my wife and i both updated our game now we cant log in or play at all on ps5 because it says "Patch Required. Please download and install to access online features." but when i check for updates it says its fully up to date.

A few friends have said the same. I also have one downloaded but not installed yet. Usually you cant get into the game without installng but currently I can

Looking at my history it says it updated to version 1.020.002.

Same, version 1.020.002. I've tried clearing PS5 cache, restarting, etc. No luck. I was able to login before the patch finished downloading and installed.

It seems a patch was deployed erroneously on PS, if you interrupt the download you can still play but if you didn't catch it happening you're currently locked out. Version number as above.

They gave us patch to download and install but did not update servers or put wrong version info on the servers.
Probably person normally responsible for this was deemed not needed and let go in those layoffs. Just our reality from now on :'(

There wasn't supposed to be a patch today, per the banner. There's been a big mixup somewhere since we got a (several years old) patch.

If the patch has downloaded, but you haven't installed it, it can be deleted. I was able to delete it from the Notifications screen.
But: I've changed characters, but I have not logged out, so I'm not 100% sure this 'fixees' it.

I don’t have automatic updates so I was able to log in this morning. I hope I can again after lunch.
