I'm sorry but I genuinly cannot make out a difference between the skill style and the original form.
Displayed on a female orc with the skill style equipped.

What morph do you have? (ETA: I think those eyes can’t be changed for transparency, so it seems you may be using the black skill style on the already black berserker morph?)

I was under the impression that the skill styles earnable through the Dynamic Encounter allow you to use the extant colors of other morphs.

That is, if you use Ashen Gray when you have the base morph, Black when you have the berserker morph, or White when you have the pack leader morph, there will not be a difference. The intent would be to allow you to use white or black while having the base morph, gray or white for berserker, or black or gray for pack leader.

I tested the skin on both morphs. The fur color stays the same and only the eyes change. No black fur in sight.
And yes, i did go back into human form and then back into ww form to make sure the model properly resets after changing the morph.

No black fur. Just the eyes change.

I used the black skill style on pack leader. I now have a pack leader with black fur and yellow eyes. I can swap the skill style back and forth in the skill menu and clearly see the change.

I used the black skill style on the base morph. I now have a base morph with black fur and yellow eyes. In my menu I can swap the skill style back and forth and see the difference, as above. The difference is more subtle, but it's there.

I used the black skill style on the berserker morph and saw no difference, as expected. I get the same black fur and red eyes in both cases.

The black is not a truly deep black, but it's noticeably darker than the gray of the base morph. It is the same as the black for the berserker morph.

If you are looking for a darker black than the berserker morph default fur, it does not exist.

The fact your fur color is not changing but the eyes change as you change morphs suggests the skill style is working for you.

If it were not working, your pack leader would be white and your base morph gray. Is that the case?

Thank you for having a look at this aswell. - It appears that the skillstyle is working as intended and I misunderstood the function of the skill style as a whole. I thought it would actually "reskin", not unlock the other morphs forms. And the black variant simply looks very brown to me so in combination with that I doubted if things were working as intended or not.

To clarify, my skill style behaves the same way as it does on your end.
Sorry, for being today's fool on display. I'd like the blame the darn heat that's rushing over my country right now.

Very happy to test it out, no worries! I don’t think you’re a fool at all.

It is always interesting to me to see how things work, or don’t work. There are so many moving parts in the game, so always possible there was a bug or bad interaction somewhere.

I do also think it’s a very fair point that the black is not super dark. Sometimes I get a certain impression but have to recalibrate my expectations based on the game’s terms. Maybe in the future they will provide new fur options too—I know they’ve been requested by others in the past, and the original werewolf model had two others (five total) at least, if I remember right.

    Happy hunting :)
