Looking forward to it! I've been replaying the original questline on my quester character. Happy to see the guild storylines returning, as Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood were very enjoyable and grounded with memorable characters.

I did not enjoy the testing. I feel my concerns were not given attention; therefore, I will not be quick to play live.

My biggest question is will the storylines remain after the event is finished. I know most event stuff will vanish in October but most events are small scale it seems like it would be a shame to create a whole new storyline only for it to be temporary.

I don't play ESO that regularly, I play for about 3 or 4 months then play something else for a year, I also like to replay stories, I don't like the idea of there being a proper sequel to the thieves guild story that might be missable because I wasn't playing at the right time.

I'm not sure I understand some things about this questline.

Why is the starter quest marked as only being available until July 23(?) in the store? Does the whole questline shut down after that?

what event are you referring to?
    there is no ongoing event.

    edited to add:
Thieves Guild sequel questline is permanent.
    Favour quests are permanent.
Sheogorath questline will be permanent, when it releases.

High Seas of Tamriel is an upcoming event in September, that is 2 weeks but likely returns in the future.

i am unsure what you are referring to with event stuff vanishing in October, are you referring to Season 1?
the new Tamriel Tome vanishes if you do not purchase the upgrade. but i imagine its collectibles will eventually return in the Gold Coast Bazaar or Crown Store.

Yes I meant the season sorry, I'm so used to referring to the temporary stuff as events.

Everything I found said Season 1 was live until October 21st and talks about The Return of the Thieves guild being Season 1 so I didn't know which parts of S1 were temporary and which were here to stay.

I'm happy to know the story lines are going to be permanent that's what I'm most interested in and the favour quests look interesting as well. I get through new content quite slowly I only just finished Gold Road for the first time about a month ago and wasn't planning on playing again for a while, I haven't even touched Solstice yet and obviously I'll have to replay the Thieves Guild in preparation so it'll probably be at least a year before I get round to playing this.

Thanks for the info, it's very reassuring to know I won't miss anything I don't want to.

They created a logjam with the introductory quest, you can't get the lock screen up to unlock the stupid door.

Known problem. Here's a workaround. Grouping helps, I tried to pick the Reaper's March lock for a few minutes, then grouped the 4-5 people standing around doing the same. With all of us trying to pick it, we got through a few minutes later. Once the lock animation goes away (or the interact goes away if you didn't happen to be the lock picker), you have to go back to Daggerfall and enter the door there.

The door crowding mishap aside, I really enjoyed the questline :)

It’s also really nice how the new questline and the things that came with it have breathed fresh life into an old zone, maybe similar can be done with the others in time. Perhaps the upcoming Sheogorath story will do just that^^
