I encountered a serious issue in Tales of Tribute ranked matchmaking.
As soon as the match is found and I enter the game, I immediately receive a defeat screen — before either player can make a single move. The match ends instantly at 0:00, with the score showing 0–0, and no turn is ever played.
What makes this especially problematic is that it appears to count as a real ranked loss, causing a significant drop in ranking.
What happens:
- Queue pops for a ranked Tales of Tribute match
- Match loads
- Before any turn can be taken, the defeat message appears immediately
- Score shows 0–0
- The loss is counted anyway
- Ranking drops heavily
Expected behaviour: If the match fails to start properly, it should either:
- not count at all, or
- be cancelled safely without awarding a loss
Actual behaviour:
- The game immediately counts the match as a defeat, even though no gameplay took place.
Additional concern:
Because this happens instantly and without any interaction, I am not sure whether this is:
- a major matchmaking / game bug, or
- some form of exploit / cheat
I have attached a screenshot with the player names redacted.
