⚔️ Premium Tome Tokens vs. Cash Purchase (PC NA & EU)

Greetings everyone!

I wanted to share the results of some testing I completed because I couldn't find a definitive answer anywhere on the ESO Forums, Reddit, or Bethesda Support. Hopefully this helps other players who play on both PC NA and PC EU.

📜Background

I play on both PC NA and PC EU with an active ESO Plus subscription.

When Season Zero launched, I purchased the Premium + Bonuses upgrade for $29.99.

Recently, after accumulating 13 Premium Tome Tokens on both megaservers during Season One, I wanted to find out whether redeeming 12 Premium Tome Tokens would behave the same way as the cash purchase.

⚔️ Test #1 – Season Zero Cash Purchase ($29.99)
When Season Zero launched, I purchased Premium + Bonuses for $29.99.

The purchase immediately unlocked:

⚔️ Premium + Bonuses on PC NA
⚔️ Premium + Bonuses on PC EU
📖 All Tome Pages were immediately available.

Result
The $29.99 Cash Purchase is Account-Wide and unlocks Premium + Bonuses across both PC NA and PC EU.

⚔️ Test #2 – Season One Premium Tome Tokens

My ESO Plus account showed:

PC NA: 13 Premium Tome Tokens
PC EU: 13 Premium Tome Tokens

This made me wonder whether the token balance was shared or tracked separately.

🛡️ PC NA
I redeemed 12 Premium Tome Tokens.

I received:

🏆 Season One Premium + Bonuses
🐕 Dawngold Corgi
💎 Two Cache of Tome Points
⭐ All Premium + Bonuses rewards

After redeeming, I had:
1 Premium Tome Token Remaining

🛡️ PC EU

I then logged into PC EU.

To my surprise...

I still had:

13 Premium Tome Tokens

I redeemed 12 Premium Tome Tokens there as well.

Again, I received:

🏆 Season One Premium + Bonuses
🐕 Dawngold Corgi
💎 Two Cache of Tome Points
⭐ All Premium + Bonuses rewards

Again, I was left with:
1 Premium Tome Token Remaining

📖 What I Learned

⚔️ $29.99 Cash Purchase
The $29.99 Cash Purchase is Account-Wide.
Unlocks Premium + Bonuses on both PC NA & PC EU.
One purchase covered both megaservers.

🛡️ Premium Tome Tokens

ESO Plus awards Premium Tome Tokens separately on each megaserver.
PC NA has its own Premium Tome Token balance.
PC EU has its own Premium Tome Token balance.
Redeeming Premium Tome Tokens on one megaserver does not affect the other.
If you have enough Premium Tome Tokens on both megaservers, you can redeem Premium + Bonuses separately on each one.

📚 Additional Discovery – Tome Page Unlock Requirements

I also noticed another interesting difference.

⚔️ Season Zero – $29.99 Cash Purchase

When I purchased Premium + Bonuses during Season Zero, all Tome Pages were immediately available, allowing me to spend Tome Points on rewards from any page.

🛡️ Season One – Premium Tome Token Redemption

After redeeming 12 Premium Tome Tokens during Season One, Pages 5 through the Bonus Pages were not immediately available.

I remember reading previous forum discussions mentioning that later Tome Pages remain locked until enough Tome Points have been earned. While testing the Premium Tome Token redemption, I noted the following remaining Tome Point requirements shown on my account.

My account showed the following remaining Tome Points required to unlock each page:

Page 5: 1,398
Page 6: 3,398
Page 7: 5,398
Page 8: 7,398
Page 9: 9,398
Page 10: 11,398
Bonus Page #1: 13,398
Bonus Page #2: 13,398

Note: These values represent the remaining Tome Points required to unlock each page after redeeming Premium + Bonuses using Premium Tome Tokens. This behavior was different from my Season Zero $29.99 Cash Purchase, where all Tome Pages were immediately available.

Hopefully this helps answer a question that I couldn't find a definitive answer to anywhere. If anyone else plays on both PC megaservers, I hope this saves you some time—and maybe a few Premium Tome Tokens!

The Pages being unlocked is a bug they've said will be addressed in a future Season. It's probably because the auto-claimer, when converting Points to Gold, also somehow applied those Points to the Tome and thus the Pages unlocked since the game thinks the Points were actually earned.

Reflecting on this

I believe that your right @Arunei We've just been going through and checking both PC_EU and PC_NA on our accounts and think that the Previous Tome Points from your previous Season might have something to do with this.
My PC_EU is full open but i had a ton of points that rolled over

PC_EU Information (Mine)

2,000 Tome points have been rolled over to the next Season's Tome (Season One)
19,733 Tome Points were converted to 197,330 gold

My PC_EU All Pages Unlocked
My PC_NA is only open page 1 to page 6 and 7 and up have to be unlocked

Unfortunately I didn't Screenshot our PC_NA ones so i have no idea what the Season Conclusion actually showed on PC_NA

PC_EU Information (Wifes)

2,000 Tome points have been rolled over to the next Season's Tome (Season One)
1,635 Tome Points were converted to 16,350 gold

My Wife's PC_EU Still had to unlock Page 5
My Wife's PC_NA Unfortunately we didn't screenshot this one so no idea on it, Still had to unlock Page 6

If i could go back and see the Season Conclusion Information i could probably have better information but unfortunately i don't see a way back to that page!

I guess overall it gives everyone a reason to grind more on the Tome Points so they have a ton to roll over to the next season!

Thanks for testing this! I also play on both servers, have 13 tokens, and had wondered if the tokens would be individual per server or not. I greatly appreciate the info!

Or if i would have read that in more detail instead of getting to excited with a response lol exactly like you said!

Awesomeness!! Glad it helped, I was like.... Ok I'll test mine first and see what happens while my Wife waited for me lol!! Hoping for the best when we did it!

Not exceptionally surprising. The cash purchase (Steam Wallet for those on other platforms) is working exactly like other retail purchases: available immediately on both servers for your platform. The points purchase is only a bit odd, but would be in keeping with how Crown Store purchases work in that they're available on the server where you purchased them. The major difference seems to be that the Premium points from the sub are available on both servers, but the sub works like a retail purchase in all other respects and I'd expect anything sub-related to be on both servers. Good to know that the Premium points are available on each server, and thank you for taking the time to investigate, test, and report that.

I fully upgraded my tone with the premium tokens and didn’t get the chicken assistant. They’re not showing up in any menu.

You have to unlock the last numbered page of the tome and spend tome tokens to unlock the assistant.
