Koldane Cartel Style, is this a joke?

This has to be one of the most uninspired things I've ever seen come out of this game. It looks like something from base game/launch/random bandits. Where is the creativity? If you want us to sink 5000 crowns into something like this, you had better make it worth it, and this one completely misses the mark Embarrassing, really.

you do not need to sink 5000 crowns into the Koldane Cartel motif, it is earnable from daily quests from the Reacquisition Board in the Daggerfall Thieves Den.

nearly all motifs cost 5000 crowns, it is the usual price.

Well, it's the motif you get from doing dailies in game, so nobody should be spending 5000 Crowns on it unless they're really really impatient.

We haven't gotten a new motif to collect since the Q3 dungeons last year.

I realize both of these things. What I am saying is, the assets are underwhelming and uninspired and looks like something that would have come with the base game in 2014. To even offer it at that cost, even for those willing to pay for it, is embarrassing. I don't know if it's indicative of the current or past state of the staffing at ZOS, but it's starting to make me wonder...

I honestly prefer stuff that looks like it might appear on random bandits over being a glowstick.

I'm not asking for something like that. I'm saying the overall design is meh. Maybe it's down to opinion. But I have zero sense of reward while earning this blah style via questing.

What makes it underwhelming and uninspired to you?
it definitely does not look similar to base game motifs to me so i am genuinely curious what makes you say that.

i personally think it looks fun and is especially fitting for werewolf thieves.
And there are likely other people that love it and may even purchase it for Crowns to immediately have it, the crown store purchase is for convenience.

I mean its not my cup of tea but I have to say comparing the new motif to the base game motifs.... Have you checked your settings on your computer? Are you on a previous gen console? The state of base game motifs compared to this isn't even close.

Totally fine if Koldane is not to your taste, but calling it a joke sounds like it means it's of low quality. It's a detailed, nicely textured thiefy style that looks way better than basegame clothes.

It has layers of fabric, different materials and textures, and fits a few themes.

And not to completely invalidate your opinion, but ... the shield has a 3D wolf head on it. That's a big win. Me, I'm on team wolf head. #teamwolfhead

Gotta love simple solutions to simple problems: then don't spent the crowns. Except for 1-9 (playable race) and 11-14 (rare), Crown Store motifs normally cost 5K crowns of you'd rather not farm chapters. Doesn't matter whether they are hot snot on a silver platter or a cold booger on a paper plate when it comes to appearance, the price is 5K crowns because you're buying the whole book (and 5 Mimic Stones). If you must have the whole book, maybe wait for a sale (it will probably be a while), or catch it from guild traders in due course?

Koldane is reasonably easy to farm, or "will be reasonable easy" once the queue at the gate disappears. At the moment, the problem is that the Glenumbra Reacquisitions Board is not usable until Codex Caper has been completed; the only board which is automatically unlocked in both Hew's Bane and Glenumbra is the Heists board. After that happens, it will be as easy to farm the chapters as any other overland motif and won't cost a single crown.

Did you read what I said? My opinion is that it's an uninspired design that doesn't warrant the cost, IMO, regardless of whether or not you "have" to purchase it. Yeesh.

I mean, it being boring is a matter of taste. That's totally subjective. The motif is free. Someone who loves it so much they have to have it right now might 5k crowns. If they do, they clearly liked it a lot. It's not really a rip-off if the item is free.
