Upgrade Tome is unavailable

Three blessings upon you, sera!

I’m having an issue with the Tome Season Zero: Dawn and Dusk. Wanted to upgrade it to get the extra rewards before it’s gone. However, the purchase button is greyed out and says “Please wait”

Has anyone else experienced this? Is there any known fix or workaround?

Hi @Lugnerius! Did you just notice this issue at the time when you made this post? It looks like you're on PC. Are you playing via Steam?

I had a similar issue: when I click on the button it says "in game overlay unavailable. please enable" and I looked all through the menus/settings and I can't figure out how to do that?

Aye, I am playing through Steam (PC). I first noticed that I couldn’t purchase the Tome upgrade about 4–5 days ago, and it hasn’t changed since then — the button remains greyed out with the “Please wait” message.

Ok, yeah, I found it, but it's greyed-out, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to turn it on. I've checked to see if any other overlays are active but they're all turned off.

Oh well, I guess I'll have to skip this one unless they decide to do it the normal way of buying it through a steam page.

I was able to upgrade the tome a few days ago, and I play through Steam. The upgrade option took me to the Steam Store to select the Season Zero update there, which made me add the necessary amount of money to my Steam Wallet, and then the tome upgrade went through.

I am also having trouble purchasing the tamriel tome on one of my accounts. 9/10 of my accounts have successfully purchased the tome upgrade.

I play on the standalone PC version of the game.

Is there something going on with account maintenance or is the up coming US holiday interfering?

Hello! For those of you on Steam who are encountering this issue, could you please double check that the Steam overlay is enabled and you have a valid payment method attached to your Steam account? To enable the Steam overlay, open the Steam client, click Steam in the top-left corner, and go to Settings (Preferences on Mac). Select In-Game from the left sidebar and toggle on Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game.

@ganzaeso could you check if you are still having the issue? There shouldn't be anything interfering with your purchase, and we're seeing no current issues on our end with the ESO account system purchase flow for Tomes.

I cannot purchase the tome either, I play the version of ESO from here, just keeps telling me to add a payment method even if I already added it.
