Adding in AP, Tel Var, and/or Archival fortunes, which are limitless grindable currencies where you're just be exchanging their specific grind for the tome grind would not significantly change this fact. If zos added in an option of say 20AP per tome point and 1 telvar per tome point and 2 archival fortunes per tome point it would give players a bit of choice while still being low stakes. That's mostly good for ZOS because it keeps those currencies limited and means we have to earn them as intended, but it's arguably good for players as well because knowing you'll only get gold removes the pressure to keep farming tome challenges after you've got all the rewards and frees up time to spend on other things instead.

I do agree that adding in limited currencies like tradebars/seals etc would probably not be a good idea, and it would also drive zos to be much more stingy with tome points, making the end result worse for everyone. I would like more seals and tradebars, but they should be as actual reliable rewards, not overflow of a multimonth system layered with RNG of getting tasks you like and with point values you like. I was early to criticize the fact that different tasks had wildly different rewards, but it ended up being ok because we had more than enough to go around and the overflow wasn't worth much, changing that dynamic would make a lot of the tome's sore points much more frustrating.
I am sorry, I meant to vote "Yes" and I got no idea how it clicked on "No"

I'm going to have closer to 30k left over tome points. I did them all every week. Not going to do this again unless they let us get something other than gold with the extra points though. I'll be disengaging from this system if there aren't some significant changes, like being able to choose which currency our extra points are converted to, and/or some repeatable purchase options for materials, potions or something else with utility. As bad as drop rates are for decent things in crown crates they could even make crown crates a repeatable purchase.

Too many options is a thing, I would find it stressful trying to figure out what to convert the points to.

Probably because you subconsciously expected 'yes' to be the first option, given the phrasing of the question. Easy mistake to make, so don't feel bad about it.
(I had initially clicked the first option too - caught it just before hitting the "Vote" button)

Choice paralysis is a thing. Having more choices can make it harder to decide which to choose. And for harder to get things like Fortunes or TV, it can be hard to decide which to choose if a person needs both for whatever reason.JustLovely wrote: »JustLovely wrote: »Could the "No" voters please post their reasoning? Too stressful to decide which currency you can benefit from the most? Ok I guess.
... and don't automatically buy all the things I didn't buy because I didn't want them!

Only solution I see is they convert to seals or carry over to the next season. This way it has no impact on people not participating in content
I doubt ZOS would let the conversion rate for Currencies, if they ever added the ability to choose, be nearly enough that people could just skip content. Take Fortunes, for example. If they made it a 1:10 ratio (1 Fortune for every 100 Points) and you have 5k Points after everything, that's only 500 Fortunes. It's next to nothing considering how many Fortunes things in IA actually cost.I voted Yes, but I see everyone point of view.
On one side we have so many tome points left over it makes no sense they go to waste or why we have so much extra.
On the other side it would take away from people doing content. For example if we can convert them to fortunes like a lot of people are saying, what would be the reason to play the Archive? Another example would be if they give alliance points/tel var, why would I participate in PvP content. Even as a PvE player why would I waste time in content I struggle with if I can just save alliance points and wait for the weekly vendor to sell what I need. Even trade bars why would we participate in events if we have enough to get everything before the event starts (what I experienced in this event going on now)

This is my concern as well, if ZoS allowed us to choose trade bars or seals. As such, if currency choice became a thing, I'd much rather it be like you said and limitless grindable ones.
That said, I think repeatable rewards that come in those flavors, as well as things like tri-pots, alchemy bags, etc, are honestly the better option. This would ALSO allow people to use up all their tome points before the season ended so they wouldn't have any collectibles auto-claimed if they really didn't want them.

A bonus page of repeatable currency (or other repeatable stuff) purchases so people can use up their points as they see fit.
That’s it. That would solve all of the rollover problems right there. And then the only people who have to deal with autoclaim or gold conversion or whatever are those who neglect to buy stuff from the active tome in the first place.
The two bonus pages now are - for all intents and purposes - just pages 11 and 12. There’s nothing different about them than the other ones, save that they just unlock together. It makes no sense.
