depends on "running bad" if its like lag/latency type stuff thats got very little due to your specs and more to do with you just having a good internet connection to the eso servers (including the whole route between you and the server)

if your talking about like FPS drops, that could also be many reasons such as either poorly optimized game (eso issue, such as there were cases in the night market when there would be severe fps drops during some encounters especially when using tempest), or there could just be graphics settings that could be optimized (hard to know what to optimize on that as it could be different for every persons system)

there is also the fact that virtually all of the games "brains" are running on the server, and your computer is only rendering the data, so all combat calculations, interactions with other players, and such are pretty much all handled by the server (which is at least part of the reason why pvp performance is so poor)

i have my main house (grand topal hideaway) listed in the housing tours, it has multiple target dummies, scribing altar, and grandmaster stations (fully filled out with current game), as well as almost every antiquity furnishing on display to preview them

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

recommended isn't accounting for ultra settings most likely.

My system was built in 2017 and equates very closely with yours.

My SSD was small and early last year I relocated ESO to my very empty 3tb HDD, I notice no change at all, actually the HDD might be faster on loading.

What I can definitely say though is I have tweaked many of my graphics settings downwards, by selecting what you reduce carefully you can increase performance with very little or no reduction in appearance.

My feeling is if you are running everything at high/ultra/max, you may be suffering performance drops due to that.

Ofc the other thing you have to consider is the quality and consistence of your conection to the server.

This they are also likely outdated, 8 GB ram for one is an joke. For one game has many times the graphical content like mounts and outfit styles than at launch who also has much more detailed textures.
Add that you have much more programs running in the background
If you get load times going in or out of houses like banks or shops you have to little ram.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

I have mine set to medium-high, I have tried the low settings and the high setting. Med-high seems to give a decent HD graphics but when there is so much going on in the trial I don`t think the server is sending-receiving the data very good.

Your gpu is getting dated, but so is mine. My 3070 handles ultra wide high settings pretty well. The old system with an old 1060 runs okay but def need to turn things down more towards medium. The main issue is world events with high traffic of 20-30+ players, there is a render delay for sure.

my oldest desktop is still running an nvidia 970 and can still play the game decently, its a little slow but the game is also on an SSHD instead of a full SSD

my current system is running on a radeon 9070 and would have to check my settings again, but they are between medium and high (i double checked my main system and im running a mixture of settings between medium and high, though i have some things turned low or off if they arent too relevant like i have grass on low, shadows medium, textures on high and character resolution on high with view distance at 100, but i didnt go crazy on like particle systems which i still have at 1024)

another thing ive tried and noticed performance issues with is the difference between running borderless window and fullscreen, it was definitely a smoother experience fullscreen, where as on borderless window i would sometimes get some stuttering (all other graphics settings the same)

for stuff like render delays, i definitely notice the performance difference on that being more on the drive its installed vs the processing, like my laptop has a super slow HDD and loading into areas has noticeable delays with lots of "shadows" running around and NPCs taking noticeable time to load in

on my older desktop which is on an SSHD (HDD with an SSD cache), it definitely improves significantly to the point i dont even see a lot of the "player shadows" when loading into a crowded area, or if i do see them its brief

my newest desktop i have the game running on a full m2 SSD and have never seen "player shadows" on load even with crowded city lol (this was the same on my radeon 6700XT, and on my newer card the radeon 9070)

getting a smoother experience really might require playing around with each setting to see how it affects your performance instead of using the "all in one" selection

    Greetings,

After further review we have decided to move this thread to a category we think is more appropriate for this topic, as it's about troubleshooting
