Which class makes since if you're playing through the PvE content as the Hero passing through? I'm leaning Templar for roleplaying, but I also want to play something that always has a spot in group content.

I like the interaction with Templar as the Vestige-- that's what mine is. Because Meridia shenanigans.

But you can really do any. As for group content, I don't do group content on my main... in part because of inventory space. My main holds things that none of my other characters do, like master writs.

If with Hero you refer to a figure like a "benevolent Paladin" then Templar is the only one really fitting.

Otherwise it all depends on your vision for the hero: a Skyrim one would be DragonKnight; a hunter/nature one (Witcher?) would probably be Warden, and so on...

I think of course any of them works based on your RP, with the Templar being the most obvious standard hero-type. It's very easy to feel holy and heroic if you want a hero of the Aedra.

My main however is a Necromancer. RP wise his was stillborn and his mother sacrificed another child to revive him, and he has since been cursed. The sacrificed child is the Necro-healer ghost summon for my character and has followed my character since.

I feel the spirtist (as opposed to corpse-raising) aspects of the necro combine well with Soul Magic and the base game story and the concept of a soulless Vestige, and adds some nice additional trauma for my character while questing.

I like the idea of a hero who has to hide large aspects of himself while looking out for the greater good. If this setting was more realistic I'd imagine quite a few moral compromises may be needed to prevail over the challenges we face in the story.

I went Necromancer because I lost my soul to Molag Bal in Cold Harbour becoming the Vestige but I have completely abstained from using any of the criminal skills from the Necromancer class the entire time. I never even put a single rank into them. Necromancy is a curse. I did not ask for these dark powers and I refuse to be the blight Molag Bal tried to turn me into.

Love this take on the hero's path.

This prompted me to check and there are a surprising number of necro skills that are entirely upstanding and legal lol.

Any class really works as "The Hero", but after watching A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms I turned my Dragonknight into a Dragon-Hedge-Knight, so I imagine him going from place to place, helping towns, dealing with royals, working in the background while the real heroes deal with Molag Bal shenanigans :> Really depends on what you mean by "The Hero"

From an RP perspective at least, but all the class archetypes can easily fit into the "Traveling Knight/Warrior/Rogue/Mage" idea, I would however argue that maybe Daedric Summoning Sorc doesn't *really* work because you're constantly running through major cities talking with important NPCs with a Clannfear or Twilight right next to you
