I'm not in favor of auto-claiming but only 2k Tomes will carry over to the next season, not all of them. So any extras beyond the 2k are what are being used to auto-claim items.
I think they should just convert any over 2k to gold rather than things the player may not want or use.

Like I said earlier, I won't end up with 2k to carry over. Most of what I have currently, and I don't plan to increase that due to other games and such, will be used to auto-claim items. This "feature" won't get me to increase my playtime either, it will do the opposite, push me further away from this terrible seasonal model.
