========================================
BUG REPORT: WEREWOLF POUNCE → FERAL CARNAGE FAILS TO TRIGGER ON SUNSPIRE DRAGONS
========================================

SUMMARY:
The Werewolf ability Pounce, which automatically becomes Feral Carnage when used within 7 meters, does NOT properly switch to Feral Carnage when fighting Sunspire dragons. Even when the player is visually touching the dragon’s hitbox, the ability repeatedly attempts the gap-closer pounce animation instead of activating the melee version. This mirrors the old interaction issues previously seen with Zaan.

========================================
ABILITY BEHAVIOR (REFERENCE)
========================================
Pounce / Feral Carnage:
- Pounce: 22m leap that deals Bleed Damage and applies Hemorrhaging.
- Feral Carnage (automatically replaces Pounce at ≤7m):
• Deals Bleed Damage over 12 seconds
• Up to 450% increased damage vs targets under 100% Health
• Both versions restore Stamina and generate Fury

Because Feral Carnage is the intended melee version and does significant amount of bleed damage (especially with the signet mythic), failure to trigger it directly impacts Werewolf DPS and rotation stability.

========================================
REPRODUCTION STEPS
========================================
1. Enter Sunspire and engage any dragon boss (Yolnahkriin, Lokkestiiz, Nahviintaas).
2. Move into true melee range, close enough to clip into the dragon model.
3. Cast Pounce (which should convert to Feral Carnage).
4. Observe that the ability attempts to leap instead of activating the melee version.

========================================
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
========================================
When standing right at the dragon, well within 7 meters, Pounce should reliably convert to Feral Carnage and activate instantly without attempting a gap-closer.

========================================
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
========================================
- The ability fails to convert and repeatedly attempts the leap animation.
- The DoT only begins once the player repositions (by moving deep under the dragon, which is an unacceptable risk in no-death and trifecta runs) so the game finally registers melee range.

========================================
GAMEPLAY IMPACT
========================================
- Werewolf is becoming increasingly relevant in the current trial meta, even with the known 6% bug.
- Because Werewolf is a single-target-focused build, Sunspire's bosses are one of the few places where it should perform optimally (unlike adds and trash packs where it naturally falls behind). This bug directly undermines that expected performance.
- This bug makes players waste time and effort and discourages the use of Werewolf in organized groups.

========================================
REQUEST
========================================
Please investigate the hitbox interaction causing Pounce to fail its melee-range conversion on Sunspire dragons. Fixing this would greatly improve Werewolf quality of life and ensure the class functions as intended in endgame PvE.

    Pretty sure Brutal Pounce/Carnage is busted too. Anyone who ran Sunspire with it able to confirm?

    Still no replies or acknowledgement from Devs. The issue in Sunspire is a confirmed bug with a known cause, and it has a pretty serious impact on gameplay. It might not even be limited to Sunspire, so I’m curious whether anyone has noticed the same thing in other trials or dungeons. Any reports could help narrow down how widespread this is.

    It was the 2nd known issue in the U50 patch notes, they are aware and working: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/comment/8485119/#Comment_8485119
    Carnage and morphs (melee variant of Pounce and morphs) do not properly respect distances with creatures that have larger hit boxes, making the abilities difficult to use against them. This is actively being investigated for solutions, but may take additional patch cycles to correct.

    Same for overland dragons, unless you scoot into that aoe under their feet you can't use the melee component of that attack. And, fun thing to try, go into Frost Vault and use the skill on the final boss, it's a wonderfully horrible idea.

    This sort of problem affects melee companions too. They get so close to overworld dragons that they burn/freeze/electrocute themselves to death.

    Thanks for sharing, folks. What's concerning:
    Carnage and morphs (melee variant of Pounce and morphs) do not properly respect distances with creatures that have larger hit boxes, making the abilities difficult to use against them. This is actively being investigated for solutions, but may take additional patch cycles to correct.

    Additional patch cycles (plural)? How long are we talking about?
