Overland difficulty

I have recently returned to see if the game is worth playing. The overland difficulty has a bug IF you go to a guild members house. I tried to change the setting after visiting a members house and option to change was inactive, meaning it was darkened. I did a /reloadui and it was lit up. If anyone else had this problem, you have the solution now.

I had a similar thing happen when I was in Opulent Ordeal, except the game changed my difficulty without permission before blacking it out. This occurred when a player joined the group. I only noticed because LUI Extended prints difficulty changes to chat. I had been sitting in the trial for a few minutes without touching anything when I saw the chat alert, and that’s when I checked to make sure that the game had in fact changed it without my input and then blacked it out.

The difficulty of a group’s instance (for the regular dungeons and trials) also changes sometimes without crown’s input when a player joins group. Even if that player is 2000+ CP, the game sometimes reverts the difficulty to normal. I don’t recall it changing the difficulty to vet. Likewise, with the challenge difficulty it reverted to the lowest possible setting (Adventurer). With the group setting issue, crown can change it back but needs to be aware of that. With challenge difficulty I could not change it when it was changed on me.

Challenge Difficulty settings are not adjustable while in any player housing:

I think most players would like to adjust difficulty in a house while they're preparing to head out into the wilds of Tamriel.

I did not change while in the players house. What happened is that I visited the house to use the aetherial well to get my ultimate back to 100% and had noticed that it was darkened after I left the house.
