I've been playing on Seasoned on all the characters I play on and enjoying it. Haven't tried the others yet, but I will be. I can't see going back to Adventurer, tbh.

Only for achievements, and they were cheesed. I think Seasoned is the highest I would ever "farm" on occasionally, mostly for the dyes.

Being happy for this new aspect of the game my curiosity compels me to try it out

I will start my tests on brand new characters to see how different race/class combos work for my playstyles. Not sure if Vestige is the best level but I will begin there. Having 5 free slots on each server will be very useful here.

I tried Vestige against a newer DLC World Boss and my full tank got smashed! Probably wont use it for content that is already harder, but maybe flex for base game stuff.

I mostly play on Vestige but i have also tried out Master.

For me Master fits for solo play regarding incursions and world bosses. I think delve bosses, story bosses and general trash is more enjoyable on vestige.

I knew i would enjoy the harder difficulties, yet i still was surprised on how much i actually enjoy it. It gave ESO a new life for me.

I mostly view the difficulty in the way that Master is "Veteran Mode" for solo and vestige for groups.

I think the trash and delve bosses should be harder for both. There is a noticeable gap between those and incursion/wb which did not show with the trivial difficulty before.

And Vestige, similar to the nightmarket, is not that bad in a group of 4+. Its a nice Challenge for a small group but nothing too crazy.

All in all huge Win for me :)

This is not way. I don't have time to waste battling overland creatures or being one shot by a skeleton. This is NOT the way. If you like it fine. And as long as I am not obligated or forced, great

If you want hard mode : On normal mode (like it was), just start a zone with NO gear on at all. Battle with your fist until you find white Rubedite gear or random gear and go from there. Many ideas that could be done that is real hard mode. Not some damage scaler while you wear GOLD gear and proc sets.

This update actually brought me back to the game. So far I have tried "Vestige" and "Master" difficulties. I am very much enjoying the added difficulty, its been sorely missed!

It makes it feel like a proper game again where the combat mechanics feel valuable in doing instead of gimmicks that can be ignored.

I do wish those playing on higher difficulties had the OPTION to play only with others on the same difficulty, it does defeat the purpose the challenge when someone comes running in on regular mode destroying everything and ruining the fun.

So far I have played on Vestige and Master difficulties. I mostly use Vestige for overworld content and only switch to Master when I encounter a boss or enemy that I cannot defeat otherwise. It has been a ton of fun so far, as I haven't been back to the game in ages and this kind of change is enough to get me interested in questing again. I have enjoyed actually finding mechanics in fights that otherwise I could completely ignore and it has gotten me to actually pay attention to what I am doing.

I will say I found a harvester that absolutely wrecked me and I immediately was reminded of doshia way back when the game released.

Using Vestige, to be honest the game is far too easy playing normal. This will at least give a better feel towards ESO since they've ruined PvP entirely. :)

I've been doing harborage quests for path to adventure on a new account and master seems good for that on a new char with no real gear. Vestige is kinda too much damage comes in and too many one shots. Seasoned doesn't really feel much different from adventurer. I still haven't done eastern solstice on my main so probably will try that on vestige.

I have used them all for... achievements, and tried Master just to compare. Once achievements are finished, never again. Not worth it. I don't mean that it needs more rewards, I mean it's not worth it. It takes longer to kill trash mobs. It's boring. Why would I willingly go through that. I don't want to interact with it as a system in any way and touch wood they never add drops for only challenge mode.

I've tested them all and am currently running things on vestige mode. Feels good having to think during combat again. The previous situation felt about as exciting as drooling on the keyboard. Not saying that vestige mode is required to make combat feel like combat again. Just any setting above the old standard will do.

Just to update, fwiw. I spent some time in delves and PDs today, farming enemies for the achievement dyes, and I admit Master difficulty is pretty good for that. I wouldn't use Master for WBs though.

the only difficulty i have not directly tried was master, but that would probably be a sweet spot to go for most things

vestige is if you really want a challenge, you cant really play a standard dps toon because of the incoming dmg, especially doing incursions (ive completed all of the tasks on the achievement for playing vestige except the dynamic encounter because those arent available yet)

ive been mostly running seasoned to work through the other achievements, and overall for most overland stuff i barely notice a difference on my dps, WBs i notice some sustain issues, but i think thats because the fight lasts longer when you have -50% dmg penalty lol

Been messing around with Vestige on my Warden tank. Pretty fun doing incursions like this. The fight feels more real, and because other ppl are not on Vestige, it doesn't take forever.

I haven't used them and I won't use them. It really doesn't interest me. Not enough reward involved in it IMO. It was a silly idea to begin with. If I want difficult content, I'll get together a group to do a vet trial or dungeon or arena. Or I'll go solo in one of the solo arenas.

(showing my age, which is probably the main reason I care not a jot about killing a dragon as Vestige - but then I thought my character WAS the vestige anyway? 🤔😘 Nothing to prove!)

    Master/Vestige

Was pleasantly surprised how simple modifiers can make a slog an enjoyable experience all of a sudden, it's like turning a walking sim into a proper game it should've been from the very start. Addition of more interesting affixes would be a dream now. Hopefully there's some development space for this direction of the game!

I used Vestige for the achievement title and have been on Seasoned, working on the dyes.

People have asked for more "value" for the higher difficulties. I would like to see something like increased drop chance for leads that come from anything affected by the difficulty settings. Higher difficulty, higher drop chance.
Maybe also apply drop chance to companion gear. Higher difficulty, chance of higher rarity gear.

I tried Vestige. On a random Haj Mota of all things. It spit at me and I died, so I came back for vengeance. Yeah, turning one of the few non-steamroll mobs into a Dark Souls boss has its charm, but if I want that kick I play the real thing.

Played Seasoned for a bit, but that's really just a more tedious version of normal difficulty.

Had some fun watching some Vestige-build videos on youtube, though. That's kinda hilarious.

There was a large request for some challenge for overland from players who like the questing / soloing but dont play ESO as a comfy game where everything falls over upon seeing you.

I think it's fine if you don't care for it, but I disagree it was a silly idea because you personally aren't interested. Some of us appreciate bosses that can survive the first 2 words of their villain monologues before dying after all.

I'm a PVP'r so I only do overland stuff to get gear.

Overland stuff has always been boring for me. Even Arenas like Dragonstar where you basically figure out the pattern, rinse and repeat.

If you like it, that's totally cool.
