Maintenance for the week of June 15:
• PC/Mac: No maintenance – June 15

One of my characters is an Imperial and... There really aren't ANY houses available in Cyrodiil?

Glorious_Platypus
Like... Really?

"Oh it's a pvp zone and you might get griefed at the entrance to the house" just let me turn off being flagged for pvp even if I'm in the zone that way other players cannot attack me regardless of where I am. I'm never going to do pvp anyway.

"It's in a war zone so it's against the lore" ... so? It adds to the charm. Plus my character probably bought the house a really great price.

Duckduckgo AI says this about it: "Players seeking Cyrodiil-themed housing typically look to homes in bordering zones like West Weald (which offers views of Hackdirt) or The Rift, or they utilize the Cyrodilic Jungle House available in Malabal Tor."

I have no idea if those options are a good compromise because I'm still really new to the game and haven't been to those places or toured that house yet.

Anyway! Thnx for reading : )

The Haven of the Five Companions is probably the closest to a in-Cyrodiil house we have. It’s on the edge of the pvp Cyrodiil map, technically, and it does give views of Cyrodiil as well. The main house also looks a bit like a scroll temple as well.

West Weald, Blackwood, and the Gold Coast are part of the province of Cyrodiil. The center of the province is called Cyrodiil on our map likely because it was part of the base game and the other three areas are DLC. For housing for your imperial, you can look at:
    - Linchal Grand Manor
    - Merryvine Estate
    - Wildgrown Chapel of Julianos
    - Rosewine Retreat
    - Pilgrim's Rest
    - Water's Edge
    - Sweetwater Cascades
    - Pantherfang Chapel
    - Hiddenspring Cottage
    - Grand Gallery of Tamriel
    - Haven of the Five Companions
    - Cyrodilic Jungle House
    - Elinhir Private Arena
    - Enchanted Snow Globe Home
    - Willowpond Haven

Well it's not just oh it's a pvp zone, but it functions completely differently from the regular zones because it has strict population limits, and performance issues related to that, and people have to queue to enter the zone. The last thing they need is a bunch of people in the queue related to housing. Best option currently is to look at the list of houses above, or wait it out to see if zos ever adds a non-pvp cyro map, but that might be a very long wait.

Okay I must have the brain of a goldfish or something. Or I wanted to complain about something lol.

    West Weald is in Cyrodiil.

That's right, I played Oblivion back in the day. I remember. taps forehead

I'm checking out that 5 companions house now.

Eh okay, the view is good, but it's not that great honestly. I turned my render distance all the way up and it didn't seem to make an impact on it

I love Linchal Grand Manor, mostly for its huge courtyard, but it also has a couple towers with views of the Gold Coast countryside, Varen's Wall, and the city of Kvatch. It is probably due to cycle back into the crown store soon, although ZOS play crown store stuff close to vest and it is mostly, "When will it be back?" "It'll be back when it's back."

Real estate businesses hardly go well in the active war region.
Selling you a house in a place where somebody could plant a few trebuchets at night... I would consider this deal a crime.
"Oh it's a pvp zone and you might get griefed at the entrance to the house" just let me turn off being flagged for pvp even if I'm in the zone that way other players cannot attack me regardless of where I am. I'm never going to do pvp anyway.
Players have asked this kind of thing already. It would be exploited by pvp trolls from day one. So no, no flag-on/flag-off in Cyrodiil please.

Also, if you never do pvp, why bother with Cyro?
I have no idea if those options are a good compromise because I'm still really new to the game and haven't been to those places or toured that house yet.

For charm and RP purposes I would really check the existing houses in nearby zones, not in Cyro itself.
People sent some options above, and they are awesome.

If resources were infinite, yeah that might be a nice idea. But Cyro has massive performance issues that will not be fixed by adding a lot of housing people queuing in. The ganking when you exit the house can easily be remedied by adding a short invulnerability after you leave. Like in IC.

But a house in Cyro would make it way too easy to exploit the other way. Now there are people who queue in to IC from Cyro so they don't die, but they have to queue back in to Cyro. If there would be a house, they could "escape" to their house too easily and wouldn't even need to queue back into Cyro.

in oblivion, cyrodiil encompassed a lot more than just the west weald, it also included (in eso terms) the gold coast and blackwood

i dont think all of the houses offered in those zones are purely imperial themed though

in progress: acquiring mundus stones (currently only have the thief)

Kind of related: I wish we would get a small/medium sized Nibenese style house one day. Linchal, Five Companions, the Grand Gallery are all massive.
Some of the cute small ones in Anvil have nice cozy layouts inside.

A house in Cyrodiil could be neat, though it presents too many challenges. For one, which campaign would you exit into? If you try to step outside your house during GH primetime, it's going to cut you off, similar to how if you go into Cheesemongers or any other delve and try to get back into the map.

Actually, that might even could turn into an exploit of getting around the queue if you get lucky enough and it accepts you stepping out before the system brings a new person into the campaign.

Now a house in IC, that would be interesting to me. There are instances in IC that people can walk to, and I don't think there are population issues with IC, unless it's Whitestrakes time.

Its a literal warzone like you said plus the imperials were essentially displaced out of cyro. However don't forget Gold Coast still exists and blackwood. Both Cyrodilic lands. The heartland is whats under attack.

Strident Springs Demesne at the north edge of Reapers March requires the Imperial version of the game to purchase. While it may not be in Cyrodiil it is an Imperial house.

There are a variety of imperial themed homes (I own a few of them for my Imperials) in Imperial lands - just not in central Cyrodil which makes sense given the lands are war torn.

Technicalities aside, I think it would show how inhospitable the land is right now due to the planemeld and the war itself, with its citizens being displaced refugees.

A house in the Cyrodiil zone or Imperial City would be interesting, but I think some of the limitation is that houses are always accessed by a door in that zone. So you could enter from a portal or a path through the mountains or something, but in those cases, the house symbol would probably still be wherever that entrance is.

It would be funny to have a tavern/refuge house in Imperial City with the sound of siege pounding outside lol. Not sure it would sell, though.

This house is one of my favourites but that's because I like building stuff and it lends itself well to that.

Plus it is in Craglorn, Imperial Style and very close to the Cyrodiil borders

I sincerely wish people would stop trying to turn ESO into an online Barbie house project.

Each to their own, I love housing, it's always there to be worked on when I cannot sleep(pretty damn often).

Update 50 and the new plan releases have breathed life into often quite quiet zones, whether to use yourself or to sell.

I've said this before recently but be careful what you wish for, I think non housing people honestly do not realise how much money Housing makes for ZoS.

The money to keep the game going needs more than one source!!

This really. All those $100+ houses, house guests, furnishing packs, standing stones, crafting tables, crown crate furnishings, etc. keep more lights on that people probably imagine.
