Yes that’s right. Xbox NA. Not in any voice chat channel either and doesn’t matter whether it’s pvp or pve areas you can hear about a half second of different players speaking. Their gamertag will show too and I personally don’t recognize the names. No way to turn it off since I’m not on any voice channels.

Keystroke✭✭✭Yes this has been happening for months now on Xbox, people get added into the area chat channel but the game setting doesn’t show you. Every night I whisper people who appear to be having private conversations that their mic is on, almost always they thank me and toggle it off. The bug is that it doesn’t show you on your screen that you are in the voice channel with the mic enabled, you have to toggle in and out. Most of these people are in Xbox party chat but their voice is simultaneously broadcasting in area chat.0 -

I’ve been reporting this for months. Every support ticket I’ve opened has been met with a generic templated “we’ll pass this on to the team” which in ZoS speak I’m pretty sure means the bin since I’ve not heard anything back.
I don’t wish to be rude but I’ve reached out to people whose voices have flickered into my area chat and these are all people talking in party/discord chats. How are these conversations finding their way into in-game voice channels? This is a huge privacy concern.

I have found that if I join an ingame voice channel, even if it’s guild chat of a one-person guild it solves it for me. But I know this doesn’t work for everyone1 -

Many people have actually reported it for months and months. I also opened up a bug report in the Cross Platform ESO GM Discord, just yesterday.Cyrodiil Orange Farmers
