Werewolves Everywhere in Grey Host and They are Formidable!

It's like going to a petting zoo in GH these days!

Seriously (and I suspect I state the obvious), recently I seem to be encountering substantially more werewolves in Cyro. What stands out is that most appear to be performing extremely well both offensively and defensively. Current WW builds seem capable of applying heavy pressure while remaining surprisingly durable.

Meta shift? Nerf Target? How much more offensive efficiency added to GH is sustainable long term?

Bring back old Azureblight so we can get solid counters vs large stacks of enemies again 🙂

I got killed by 20 AD werewolves and they burned all 4 of my coldfire yesterday. They needed 20 of them for me firing siege? Nice. I don't have any coldfire anymore, so no point in logging in. I hope they are proud.

But I will be back. I will fire siege. And I will fire it harder and stronger. I remember the names of those furballs. I won't forget.

Of course you see them everywhere. It's the new overpowered 2 button build that has insane damage and insane tankiness. It's pretty obvious no one tested this in pvp. They could make WWs take 10,000% more damage from poison and that probably still wouldn't balance them.

It'll be nerfed in an upcoming patch for sure.

    A couple of reasons:

    1. Warden class masteries + WW. It is kinda broken. I am not sure how to balance it without nerfing warden or WW or class masteries in general working in WW form - cuz most of them are ok-ish & synergise well with WW, but Warden is an exception here.

2 . WW PvP players were very niche and WW was worst spec in the game, so by playing WW, you were just gimping yourself, but some people liked it cuz it was an extra challenge. Also - if you were good & some one underestimated you (cuz they saw WW & WW was "free kill") - you could surprise them.

Since WW got altered and kinda buffed (so it is not as bad as it was), if some one was good WW player back then - they can perform way better now.

    3. Curiosity. It is a part of the base game update, so a lot of people are just trying it out. Keep in mind that right now you don't need other player or RL cash to have WW skill line.

I’m sure everyone’s just excited to try the new thing. I’m suddenly seeing a lot of werewolf guilds in zone chats, so…

This is so annoying that I can’t even properly express how I feel.
I usually prefer playing bursty builds with a high-risk, high-reward playstyle: squishier, but with much higher killing potential. Well, not anymore, because now you have DKs and dogs running around with 40–50k HP, infinite sustain, insane tankiness, and high damage, all packed into one build.

At this point, you either join them or you feel like you’re fighting with a sword against machine guns.
The meta has never been this awful. There have always been overperforming builds, but at least players used to have to sacrifice something in the damage-tankiness-sustain triangle. Now some builds seem to have all three maxed out without giving up anything.

This is probably the first time in 10 years that I’m seriously considering quitting PvP. And since 90% of my time in the game is spent on PvP activities, I’m really starting to wonder what I’m even doing here.

They are everywhere in battlegrounds too. I'm quitting until WW and DK meta is over.

You have no idea what you are talking about. what about OP DKs everywhere?

Its not ww thats broken, its the shattered mythics with status effect gear everyone are a abusing thats broken .
I challenge you to play ww and not use status effect mythics/gear in BG etc and see how OP op it is.
Bet you get smacked so hard. NB one shot you with poisen. Try kill a good DK as ww without broken status effect, good luck.

Warden passive, status effect gear ,and broken mythic is what makes broken combo.
So before you come here crying about nerf. Maybe try to understand whats maling those builds broken.

I’m 99% the sorcerer masteries are better for wolf outside of dueling.

This is one of the best takes I have seen. The supposed "meta" Werewolf build gets it's power from things outside of the werewolf kit.

We will continue to see more Werewolf players because it is the new big thing. When that trend is over people will realize how good Sorcerer is right now.
