EU megaservers for maintenance – June 12, 8:00 UTC (4:00AM EDT) - 13:00 UTC (9:00AM EDT)

The server was closed 19 hours 3 days ago... Tomorrow you're going to close it again?! 😂
This server spends more time in maintenance than it does being open. lol! And every time the server goes back online, it's worse than before. GG, ZoS... GG!

Thankfully it's only a few hours during the best time of day for it to be completed (NA time anyway).

The difficulty bug is somewhat irksome but endurable however the 'doing no damage' one is a veritable downer.

Furthermore the console bug seems pretty gamebreaking to me.

Looks like one of those 'had to be done' cases.

No AI music video about the EU server being closed? Wow, must have really hit them hard.

To tell you the truth, ESO is so bad right now, so bad that even creating more music to talk about ESO feels as boring as logging into the game.

Yeah, as usual perfect timing for NA - and the rest of us are ignored.
Thank you so much for that, ZOS.

The notice has a link underneath. If you check the link it explains this is to fix the Challenge Difficulty bug where people start as Master difficulty upon logging in and changing it can make your damage go 0. That is a pretty game breaking bug.

Would you prefer that a game breaking bug is fixed asap, or would you like it more to continue playing a broken game?

I wasn't even aware thar maintenance changed to Fridays. Wasn't it supposed to be on Mondays? I was caught off guard, and it was a shame because I had this morning free. They could have notified us of this change in advance by email.

Also, U51 will probably have the same. Huuuuuge changes to weapon and spell power stats and Alchemy. As fundamental changes as we saw in this U50. Once U51 goes live, people will find new bugs and new exploits. I predict that at least one of the bugs or exploits needs to be fixed asap. So U51 maintenance will be a long one. And a couple of days later they will need a few hours to implement a hotfix.

Software is nowadays rather huge, the programming is a challenging task. Happens to any software that is big enough and has been around long enough. Not a ZOS specific issue. It's typical for huge software development. Even if your software doesn't have huge bugs now, wait for the next operating system updates, graphics card updates, security updates, browser engine updates, and yes, all of a sudden your software is unusable although you changed nothing.

Estimated. However, they are already done and PCEU is already up, more than 2h early. Quite often the estimate is the "worst case scenario" and is actually finished hours before the estimated time. (And sometimes the opposite...)

Also, taking down the servers and booting them back up takes time. Even if you would change a single line of code, it would still take time. That's why they don't take the servers down for every possible bug fix whenever they have the fix ready. Only during the scheduled maintenance. But this difficulty setting was almost game breaking, they had to implement a hotfix. Pretty sure just pushing the update is the least time consuming part of the entire process.

I don’t get it people always complain. For years people wanted to have reales of new updates at the same time. Now we have it and we have all what it comes with. Same team now have to update all at the same day wich comes with longer downtimes at days I would guess. And with crossplay I would think we get even more of this. Enjoy
