Targeting of grappling posts in OO trial

I have completed the NM trial multiple times now, many times of red (which is my favorite). Is it just me or the targeting of the grappling posts is kind of off? I feel that I often need to search for that sweet spot which is often not really on the post but to the side of it. I feel that the posts that are not vertical are the worst offenders. What is your experience?

ill have to 2nd this but its not just in the trial its anywhere an grappling post is and YES the ones on a angle are the worse to find that sweet spot more times than not

Yes. It makes things unnecessarily harder because you'll be doing things right and just the targeting is weird.

Go in directly North to first platform. Turn 90 degrees to the left to the grapple point, move reticle back 1 inch of monitor screen to the right of the end point of the grapple post ... I mean once you figure it out it's easy, and what's not to love about reticling over thin air and wiggling the mouse while spamming E?!

(So yeah, for some points and for some players the targetting is way way off)

The ones in Vateshran used to be great—I never had to worry about landing them quickly even if I was falling midair. It was very responsive and reliable.

The ones in Night Market and Opulent Ordeal have felt spottier and slower. I think that they may have more limitations as far as which angles you can use them from, whereas perhaps the Vateshran ones just had a range.

For me it was tricky because you couldn’t be a single hair-widths off or it wouldn’t work.

Your cursor has to be exactly on the grappling post or at least on the edge of it. Maybe it’s easier with a mouse and harder with a joystick on a controller, I don’t know.

Why go North if the fastest way to the orange or purple switch points are the islands that are directly East/West from the grappling post on the edge of the main room? From there it's just directly to the corresponding switch point (2 jumps total).

I use a mouse and for the posts at an angle the sweet spot is usually not on the post at all.

Edit: but I'm glad that it's not totally due to my clumsiness.

Because then I can't pick up the grapple point at all ...

just because the players can find away around 90% of issues doesnt mean they are not issues zos relies on the players to except walk arounds over fixes and the players accept it way to much ...

you should be able to go right or left depending on what side of ring your traveling to not always having to go up middle

This works and is quicker but you have to be on just the right spot on the platform to target them. I don’t know about PC but on PS the grappling post glows with a yellow outline that can be seen through the rocks. You can avoid a couple of platforms with spiders on them, which slow you down, if you do this. Like I said though, it takes a few seconds to line up just right to target them.

his later post said hes been unable to trigger the right and left making OPs post even more reason for this to be looked at lol
but instead hes ok with using a simple walk around than the game working like it should

The points are insanely bugged. And it varies by player. I have friends who need to target the grapple point, some who need to target above the point, others below the point, and a few like me who need to target empty space way way way to the right.

I haven’t seen this at all, but not saying it doesn’t happen to others. I’m on console though and run few addons.

Not done the red side myself but friends doing the red side have complained how buggy the hit box for triggering the grapple can be.

Have to be standing in exactly the right place etc. Bit frustrating in a time based bit of gameplay.
