Probably the moderators will [snip][snip] my entire comment, or even [snip][snip] my forum account, just for saying that we don't have freedom of speech. Anyway... who cares about anything in this game anymore!?

We don't have freedom of speech. It's a private company, who dictate the rules on what is allowed on their servers. Freedom of speech applies to government censorship, not corporations.

We don't even have the freedom to give honest feedback about a game created by a private company. What does that say about a company that doesn't allow players expressing their genuine opinions?
For you, it might not mean anything. For me, it says everything.
Without a doubt, you also fit perfectly into everything I'm saying.

The issue isn't giving feedback, it's the way in which you do it. Case in point right there.

Try posting feedback without the sark, the personal attacks, the swear words, the implying of swear words, the general rudeness.

You already bypass the Murkmire coffer camp, that was nuts. I think that was oakensoul anyway. I haven't found any of the mythics overly hard to get since Mora's shoulder rates were fixed. Unless they broke more recently.

Everytime I think I have already seen (almost) everything, a topic like this appears out of nowhere and makes me speechless.

I can see both sides of the coin on this. There have been a lot of recent changes to take off a lot of the grind and many of the things all of the vet players had to do to get where we are took far longer than what it takes today.

One of the things I see far too often are new players constantly trying to skip past the game. They show up at lvl 37 asking us "How long does it take to get cp like that?" And "What sets do I need to do vet and hm trials?" This is putting the cart before the horse. The game is designed to be played and learned over a long period of time, not just skipped over in a matter of weeks. Most commonly we get, "Want to help me level my character?" Its not that we can't or even that some of us don't want to, its just really not in the best interest of anyone trying to skip all of the things you should be learning by playing the game. Especially in places like IA and Dungeons. You learn how the sets work, champion abilities, mechs, ect. I can always tell when people skipped over these things by the way they play. They are easy to spot for many reasons. And they almost always have empty sticker books. While some of the leads and things can be frustrating if you're exclusively trying to farm them, theyre really not hard to obtain if you're actively participating in normal game play. Alternatively you can learn a lot of these things by running with Vet players and having them teach or help you. While it might lighten the farm or grind, it will be partially put onto them.

I wouldn't feel compelled to obtain any mythics if you're just around the cp 160 area. Its more important to start running dungeons and other things. Undaunted keys for monster sets, ect. IA for Class sets, normal trial preparation, ect. If you spread out with balanced game play you will be more prepared when things happen like needing 1200 transmutes to build gear. And mythics.

Some drops can be extremely frustrating. You will see that even Vet players struggle with that in places like very long trials and arenas while trying to get 1 piece of perfected gear like daggers or a staff. Its just a lot more fun to not try to rush it. You will ultimately be a better player for it. And a its a lot less frustrating.

This might not be what you wanted to hear but im only offering this because we were all there once upon a time. You will still be able to cause decent damage if you're properly outfitted with good gear and no mythic. I personally feel like mythics take away a lot of fun from the game as others have pointed out. A lot of times they are far ahead of people without them and I consider that to be a problem of the power level of mythics, not the type, level or quality of player.

It was indeed Oakensoul. I still remember people arguing in zone chat over methodology on checking the boxes for leads and if abled people should wait a few weeks so that disabled players can get oakensoul first.

Seriously? There were really conversations like that?

Yes, this is something that should be avoided. People should enjoy the world when playing their first character. You can easily ruin your game experience by hurrying and/or powerlevelling. And I am talking about your first character only. If you powerlevel your first character, you'll end up with something that others will expect to pull their own weight, but simply cannot do that.

I have seen this many times, but the most extreme example was this one guy who joined our guild when he was still like level 20, first character.

He figured out the easy way to powerlevel is to run RNDs with guild members. No one cares about your level, skills, dps, nothing, since there will always be one who can solo the dungeon. In our guild chat there's constantly people asking for people to join RND. And he joined them all. For several days that's most what he was doing. We tried to warn him that you don't learn the game mechanics in normal dungeons, you don't collect enough skill points just by levelling and doing dungeons, you don't level up your guild lines, other lines, etc. You will have an empty sticker book. And when you hit high enough CP people will start to expect you to pull your own weight. And when you can't you will get frustrated and quit the game. We don't want that. We want you to learn the game.

We warned him multiple times. For his own sake. He didn't listen.

Then, when he did this all the way up to CP300, had crafted sets gifted by guildies since his sticker book was mostly empty, he had researched and levelled nothing in crafting, had not enough skill points to put to skill lines he had not levelled up, he had bad time playing anywhere else except in those RNDs with our guildies.

Surprise, surprise, he left the game.
Most commonly we get, "Want to help me level my character?"

This is actually fine if it's your n+1th character and you know what you are doing. Even then I prefer to level up my characters over time. But essentially, it's a matter of taste whether you want to powerlevel your alt and then go collect skill points and level up missing skill lines, or if you want to do those while levelling your alt.

But never, ever do that on your first character.

It drives me crazy when I see how many people here expect a MMO to be simple every time in any circumstances.

Yes you have to grind. Yes you have to spend hours in the game to progress. Yes you can play without any mythic. This is a MMO, not Skyrim or Minecraft.

For God’ Sake, please stop complaining every time you run into a problem. And if you can’t, just play another game.

The game doesn’t have to change everything for the comfort of 0.1% of players who keep complaining about everything.

Not for nothing, but you had to grind to level skills in Skyrim, and you have to grind for XP in Minecraft (or so I'm told. Never had the urge to play something that dull).

You have to grind for a lot of things in minecraft, people make automatic farms for experience, food, iron, villager trading, etc. for a reason. Lots of mining and crafting if you can believe it haha.

That moment when some players do not play a lazy Oakensoul build because they are too lazy to obtain Oakensoul.

And then there's me, who got the ring last year and hasn't gotten around to making the actual build yet. :p
