I'm having this problem right now. I wasn't lagging until I had died in the Timeless Wallow. Been lagging and having this audio lag ever since.

Interesting that you can trace it to a specific activity, the Timeless Wallow.

It's always specifically Timeless Wallow for me, every time I go for the Festering Timelines achievement after one pull, I get laggy. I'm fine up until that point. Maybe related that I'm also trying to record it, but I have heard others mention lagging and desyncs during Festering Timelines pulls too.

I've spent nearly 3 weeks locked in this dungeon to get this achievement, and I experienced the same lag as you describe. It is most blatant when dying, as it takes 2 or 3 seconds to drop dead. I don't ever record. I recall having similar issues in Gossamer Crypt when the team would wipe on purpose to get the achievement in one try.

Yep, same, takes longer and longer for me to drop dead when dead until I eventually disconnect.

Also happening on XB-NA, even when you're not in the NM.For example, just picking up the daily crafting quests in RImmen and the sound effect for grabbing the quest has lagged out frequently over the last couple of days.

Anyone else had issues with UI elements as well? Yesterday evening, I had half the items in my Inventory menu disappear - it had Supplies, Materials, and Slottables, but no Companion, Furnishing, or any of the gear slots. Had to re-log my character. And then while I was attempting to interact with my crafting stations, the system kept popping up the "Help" menu information stubs for the different group roles, even though I wasn't actually in the menu at all at the time.

Regarding NM, my main account no longer participates in NM since getting 10k favors and there's been no lag on that account since.

The other 2 accounts are a different story (one of which is recently done). The accounts that still use NM, have the various types of lag (the silence) and other bugs. Those other bugs seem to be associated with porting via dungeon finder into a group dungeon during which the players are engaged with a boss and being pulled in. This disables several essential functions such as looting, opening doors, and changing bars. I have to relog to fix it.

Congrats guys. You’ve successfully derailed this discussion by making it seem like it’s a NM only problem. It’s not. It’s throughout the game. Maybe a mod will please close this because it’s a worthless thread now.

Well, there's this list of known issues: https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/692092/night-market-known-issues
The second to the last is this:
Issue: Abilities are sometimes desyncing while in combat in Night Market
    Status: Investigating

However, the sound not occurring with the skills occurred both in NM and outside of NM.

My second account, on which I was running a lot of grouped content, the desync was getting so bad in dlc dungeons that the mobs did not appear until I was on top of them and, of course, silent skills. I was so glad to be done and out of NM.
    ---
I just completed a dlc dungeon to check things on the second account since I haven't done anything on that account for a few days. It continues to have audio desync and some mobs and bosses didn't appear until seconds later. UGH

    ---- a little later
On my first account, I just did a dlc dungeon. There was no audio lag and no delayed spawn. Same computer, same addons, different character build, different account.

Audio issues occurred for me on my old PC quite often (milliseconds of game audio cutting out, ability sounds delayed on initial use, etc.), I had to play with my Sound Effects and Footsteps silders set to 0 for more enjoyable experience. Ever since I got a new PC last year, I haven't had any audio problems at all.

There could be something to this theory. I finished NM last week and had audio delays while doing crafting writs at first login for a few days, but this week I haven’t been in there and everything has been fine.

That would maybe be true if we were all having strong feelings against the NM, but I don't see the most vocal opponents posting here. We are just trying to establish whether there is any cause and effect playing out, since it is widely known that the NM is pretty bugged.

I remember that during the last Vengeance test, or maybe the one before, there were some Veng opponents complaining about it causing lag in the rest of the game. At the time I dismissed it as yet another attempt to find anything new to say against it, but now I wonder, would it be possible that those temporary realms somehow affect the rest of the game?

Earlier today, I had experienced this problem again in IA. That same character had been in NM a few hours prior, doing brazen/argent bosses. I did not have lag in NM, I logged out and played other characters, then swapped back to that character for IA. As for if this bug is NM-related or not, isn’t the entire purpose of bug reporting to give information that would help resolve the bug? You can’t just say “something’s wrong here” and expect a coder to figure it out with 0 context.

I also have audio lag and missing recall animations for several weeks now. I've never had such issues before. At first I attributed it to the launch of Night Market and the server strain assosiated with it, but I m starting to think that they broke something. I am on PC EU.

PS/NA, playing with a friend in Murkmire last night doing multiple daily quests. Very quiet there, saw maybe three other players the whole time we were there. Lag, lag, lag. Press the button to mount, start running, count thousand one, thousand two ... And consistently got up to over thousand five or more before the running animation changes to show you are riding a mount. Occasionally while galloping or running the screen image would change to the loading into Murkmire screen and then change back to show you a few steps ahead. We both noticed that Bol-Xul world boss was much more of a challenge, because of the lag. Oh, and we restarted our PS5 consoles within a few minutes of logging into ESO, with no improvement.

Really? You don’t think I disabled everything as a first step in troubleshooting? Do you work for Zos? Come on man!

Well something is causing it for some, but not for others, so it doesn't appear to be a server issue.

    That's not how things work.

Because some people never engage in the challenging content in ESO. Course, as it is now, there is audio lag even using a crafting bench or while fighting a single monster in a remote location. So you can say whatever you want, but those who actually play the game know what's going on despite all those who run interference for ZOS on this forum.

I’ve been experiencing audio desync ever since NM launched and it’s been happening across all sorts of content - NM, overland, dungeons, etc. Something seems to have happened around the same time the NM launched.

I actually play the game and engage in a variety of activities for a few hours every day, and I have not experienced any lag.

LOL'ing just a bit on this one. I was running around in Craglorn last night while waiting on the dungeon queue to pop. I had to swat a wasp a couple of times and noticed that the wasp was dead before the sound of the ability fired, especially noticable with the Arcanist Flail. My head canon on this is that we are indeed experiencing a Dragon Break and time is not working as it should.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

Something is broken for sure. While maybe not a calamity of the same order of magnitude as the Dragon Break, it is still nonetheless causing problems for many.
Did the Night Market somehow break something? No clue. This is one of those instances where it would be nice to hear from the developers even if it’s only to acknowledge the problem.

I have not had any audio lag in the last 3 days. The few days I did experience it seemed to be very randomly spontaneous.
