Wrothgar enchanter survey 1 bugged

I had Wrothgar Enchanter Survey 1 in my inventory but when I reached the location of the survey, there were no runes there. I double checked with videos on YouTube if I was in the right spot and I was 100% in the right spot but the runes were not there.

However, after logging out and back in again the runes appeared, so there seems to be a workaround.

Did you slot the survey before you went to Wrothgar, or after you arrived in the area you expected to see them? Resource nodes only show if the corresponding survey is slotted before you enter the sub-zone they are located in; if you forgot to slot it, you have to get far enough away from that spot so that crossing back into the area triggers the spawn. Same thing with map-based treasure chests.

BTW there is an add-on that helps figure all this out, including if you are far enough away for the node to respawn should you have more than one of the same survey.

Slotting a survey? I’ve never heard of that. I just have it in my inventory.

No need to slot surveys or maps just having them in inventory works just fine.

That addon is called Reset Markers, well on PC it is and it's brilliant!

Idk what’s meant by slotting but I opened it from the unknown survey container before porting to Wrothgar and it was the only one I had, so I didn’t need to move away to “reset” it for a second one.

This whole time I've been under the very firm impression that if you didn't assign your map or survey to a spot on your quick slot wheel, it didn't work at all. But you are all absolutely correct - you don't need to do that.

You got responses on the slotting, but one often overlooked tidbit is that Jewelry surveys will be treated as unread/unlearned stuff and sit at the top of your inventory until the character reads them. I don't recall this happening with other surveys, so no guesses as to what makes Jewelry different other than being written like letters/books/notes instead of pictures you have to figure out (or use an addon or look it up on the wiki). The nodes are still where they're supposed to be whether read or not, so it's just the inventory oddness.
