ESO Plus and gifting issue.

I recently purchased a year of eso plus which now comes with all the DLCs and I was going to spend my crowns to buy my son the necrom DLC pack but it's saying that it's blocked because I don't own the DLC pack is this a bug or do I have to buy it twice to unlock it for him?

YOU NEED TO SEND A REQUEST ON THE HELP DESK THINGY REQUESTING TO GIFT AND EXPLAINING WHY MIGHT HELP BUT THEY HAVE SECRET SOCIAL CREDIT SYSTEM THEY WONT TELL YOU WHAT THE CRITERIA ARE.

That is 1,000% incorrect. There are no way to get companions without a paywall, same with scribing, and scrying. The vast majority of the DLC zones are still locked behind the paywall and DLC dungeons plus trials.

Companions and scrying are behind a paywall. It is correct.
Scribing has been free since July 2025. Just in case you want to use it.

Scribing has been free since July 2025. Just in case you want to use it.

Yeah my point is that the bulk of the game is still behind a paywall. I know that over time they're going to be releasing more into the base game such as graymoore coming at the end of the year.

So the point stands I still would need to gift my son certain DLCs and if you wanted to play arcanist or necromancer or have a companion.I would need to gift those to him because you're not part of the base game.

It's interesting that you say scribing was free, there must have been some sort of bug with the Xbox cuz he tried to do it and it said he needed the DLC maybe he was too low level I'm not sure but he couldn't get to the zone to get the scribing line done.

Yes, the scribing is limited by character level. One should be >= lvl30 to use it.

Note that you must be level 30 (or have reached the Champion System) to acquire the bundle. If you happen to drop the quest, don’t worry, you can always find it again within your Collections UI or under Quest Starters in the Crown Store. Upon completion, you will unlock the Scribing system questline and can begin to acquire and customize skills!

Yeah when I returned I was champion level 820.. so had been some sort of bug on my end. But that's helpful information for my son.
