Tome Weekly Challenges refresh -- only two new entries, old zero-completion entries remain?

I was under the impression that upon the weekly refresh, Tome Challenges that you had not claimed any completed bars for would be removed and replaced with five fresh challenges. Today I find instead that multiple entries are still present that I had zero contributions towards, let alone claimed completed bars for, and only two new entries have been added.

Is this the expected behaviour? Is there no way to get rid of individual Weekly Challenges other than completing them or rerolling them, even if we leave them completely at 0/x for weeks?

You can have up to 12 challenges active at any one time. The only way to get rid of the type is to re-roll.

Thanks. I was aware of the limit of twelve; my understanding was that when it wanted to add five new weeklies, but there were no free slots, it would replace for instance the three 'Defeat Knight Commander Panthius' entries that I have at 0/5 completion with three of the new weeklies. But apparently that's not how it works... (Instead it gave me a fourth Panthius entry in one of my two free slots...)

But that is actually a good thing. You can finish ALL Panthius entries in 5 kills. The arena should be a rather busy place since many players do this challenge.

Perhaps I should use all my rerolls for the remainder of the season to try to get twelve Panthius entries simultaneously ;)

I completed a full round of Panthius earlier in the season. It feels like such a waste of game time, what with all the waves especially. Unlike many other bosses you can't just read a book for half an hour with five brief interruptions to kill the respawned boss. And if there are more thant twenty? other players I don't even get any loot.

Re-roll, fellow player! You might get lucky like I did and have TWO identical SUPER EZ challenges. Literally two birds with one stone. I wish I had enough re-rolls to re-roll the remaining to have three identical challenges.

Of course, for me, there is nothing left for me to use my Tome Points on so it doesn't matter if I ever finish another challenge for the remainder of Season Zero. Just more earned currency that will be lost once the season ends. Overkill really.

Once a challenge shows up on the weekly for you, there are only two ways to get rid of it. You either complete it (including all repetitions) and it drops off the following week, or you reroll it. If you run out of rerolls, you can ignore it until you get some more next week (or pay gold for an additional reroll after Update 50 gets here).

Note to ZOS that "Press F to Claim" pretty much remains on-screen until a challenge is claimed, so ignoring is really difficult and then we're stuck with it. Intentional or just oversight? Only the UI folks know for sure.
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.

OMG when I ran out of rerolls last week and was stuck with a trial one, for some reason I didn't think I'd be able to reroll it when it carried over this week. Thanks for reminding me that I could - it's gone! :)
