diseased, shattered paths signet and force pulse

I'm trying to make a simple shattered paths signet build for solo pve. The initial build is Draugrkin's Grip + Threads of War, divine, crit mundus, direct/single target/crit and status=>pen CPs.

Purple gears only, I have two bars but the whole rotation is really just LA Pulse Force weaving, with Tome-Bearer's Inspiration and Inferno sitting on backbar for buffs, and Core of Flame for sustain.

It seems to do 40-60k on single world mobs. Against a group however pulse force is far less reliable - diseased enchant is supposed to spread to all nearby enemes and it does usually, but force pulse often fails to deliver the mag damage on diseased enemies nearby (when it worked it deleted a group of 6 by 2 shots). Also, sometimes it seemed to delete an enemy so fast the diseased didn't spread, so I ended up having to shoot each enemy.

Why is that? Known bugs?

Another issue is pairing with Dragon's Appetite instead of Threads of War - the numbers just don't add up (unlike Draugrkin's Grip), when enemy was bleeding, damage increase was like 15 to 20%, while Thread of War offers 20-40% for merely LA + pulse force. And the healing doesn't make sense either - when I tried DoT build it worked well, but with pulse force it seems all effects fall under the "stack once half a second" - I was expected heals every 2-3 seconds because of so many types of damage and status effects proccing, instead it's like once per 5 seconds if I got lucky.

I don't think the AoE portion of diseased also apply diseased, that's very likely intended. That's why Force Pulse isn't synergizing in the way you're thinking. Or you'd have a cascade effect where diseased would just jump from target to target. lol

Which would be cool and thematic for Disease to spread... but also pretty problematic in the current meta.

Maybe if the Direct Damage component was removed and the Defile simply spread from target to target. That would be neat!

IIRC, though, there's an internal cooldown on the Diseased splash damage proc.

Disease status effect has 2 parts. First is the main damage, single target and does about regular status effect damage.

2nd part is aoe and maybe 1/3rd of the status effect damage
If you want me to reply to your comment type @Ankael07 in it.

But I saw some status effect on enemies around diseased target after initial hit on 2 or 4 seconds timer while their health seemed barely touched. Let me capturing pic later..

What about Dragon's set and also Burning Light? LA + status effect + Pulse 3 damages + 3 status effects should proc Burning Light every 2 seconds, but clearly not.

If diseased doesn't spread, what spammable/enchant/sets can I use to maximize status effects on a group of mobs? Only pulse force could do 3 effects at once. My ultimate goal is a sort of mob deleter build that'd allow me to one or two shot everything in world travel and nBRP. Then I can make it more tanky since damage done is flat and unaffected by weapon damage.

Soul burst can do ranged bleeding but only 8 meters, not a good pairing with pulse force
Winterborn area is only 3 meters.

Or Ice Furnace instead of Threads of War?
Or Savage Werewolf + 2h, if bleeding does stack?

    Elemental Ring?

hmmm Escalating Runeblades and Rune of Displacement? if minor magicsteal counts as status

found the problem, if combat metrics is not wrong:

    mzem5bkftvyr.jpg

So the debuffs were lost almost instantly, not on 4 sec timer, despite UI said otherwise (often, not always) - Minor Defile is often kept on UI, but other debuffs vanished instantly :o

and confirmed Escalating Runeblades has no effect whatsoever.

edit: logs are misleading because debuffs were supposed to be lost when they're dead, and none lasted one shot. But it's confirmed that minor defile did spread, but on very short timer (not 4s) and didn't trigger pulse force at all, at least not most of time.

You could do like Disintegrating Dragonfire to open on mobs (applies auto-Burning and Breach to everything) and then Force Pulse them for the cleave.

Ice Furnace would definitely be an interesting ranged option and is popular in Infinite Archive farming builds for status effect spam. Base chance for it applying Burning is 5% aoe direct damage * (100% base + 100% staff + 265% charged = 465%) = 23% (Tome and Ardent will make this slightly higher, probably closer to 30%, but this is your lazy worst case) so if the mob density is great enough you are likely to have at least one proc within a single cast and begin gaining cleave from Force Pulse.

I’m using those sets. Draugkin and threads of war. Good all round build even PvP and pve.

    3 heavy 3 light 1 med

I’m doing a bigger rotation Ele sus, crystal weapon, force pulse all with la weaving.

Gets 80k on trial dummy. Also have merciless resolve front bar. Trying Ethern heart, assasination, dark magic for it currently.

You can also just run Blastbones if you actually want to guarantee diseased on an AoE.

I think the aoe disease damage can apply disease, but its not a guaranteed spread and the chance is probably low. As a fellow status effect guy, i suggest you work in ele sus into your build, unless you have the Asylum staff, it will be much more consistent with applying status effects because it will always happen without any gear. Added bonus, it doesn't cost resources.

First let's get your diseased chance from threads of war. The set applies to light attacks, it shouldn't apply to enchantments. It's 1000% on your weapons native damage. As you are using an enchant to proc it, its likely not helping you.

There is also a common misconception with status effects. I've found most people don't really understand how they work for some reason. Status effects last 4 seconds. If you apply a status effect that is already on a target it will both refresh its duration and proc its initial damage. Don't believe me? go find a mob and spam ele sus on them.

Although Draugrkin is great, theres another set that is entirely slept on for status effect builds. Serpents disdain. Draugrkin will give you more burst damage and is nice because it applies to all damage types but in a scenario where fights last longer than 20-45 seconds, Serpents disdain will do more damage. This is because procing poison and bleed for 20 seconds does a ton of damage. This will surpass Draugrkins damage. If you have like 5 non status effect dots on someone Draugrkin might pull ahead but serpents disdain is better than draugrkin for damage of status effects.

To help put this in perspective, your force pulse (pulse is great btw im not hating on pulse) at best procs the burning status effect for 4 seconds. You get 4 ticks of Draugrkin on the fire damage. If you use Serpents disdain and cast ele sus, you just added a burning dot that lasts 50 seconds for 50 ticks of fire damage. With the right build you can keep up all status effects indefinitely. The great thing is you can have both of these sets at once.
