Re-Roll In-Progress Tome Challenges

Title says it all. We should be able to re-roll in-progress challenges if no rewards were given. I currently have a tome challenge for 5000 Faction Favor that will never, ever, ever, EVER be completed, that I've never claimed rewards from, and cannot re-roll. 2K seals I'll never be able to claim, and I cannot even try a different challenge. This is especially poorly thought out because no one is "opting in" to these challenges, they're just quietly starting themselves in the background.

Please let us abandon and re-roll in-progress challenges with no claimed rewards - this literally hurts nothing.

You cannot re-roll seasonal, only weekly ......

If true, that's not better. Should still be able to re-roll weekly or season. No good reason not to have that. And not being able to re-roll in progress challenges is definitely a thing, and not a good thing.

Seasonal challenges are additional and ZOS' way to funnel players where they want. You don't have to do them to finish the tome.

I get that, but previously I could've still earned those Seals doing golden pursuits. Now it's like: DO NIGHT MARKET OR YOU LOSE A MONTH'S WORTH OF SEALS, HAHAHAHAHA!!

    *Evil Villain Cackle*

    So:

    1. Let us re-roll challenges in progress (when no award has been claimed)
    2. Let us re-roll seasonal challenges

    That would be my wish-list.

Main reason you can't reroll seasonal challenges is probably cause everyone gets the same seasonal challenge. So just think of seasonals as more like a golden pursuit.

This challenge is horrible. It taunts many of us with a likely unachievable (given our play time and willingness to use random groups on alts) task.

It is the first one that I have no chance of achieving.

Though the login one is impossible especially with the "you don't get it if you are online during the flip over" bug.

The problem isn’t about whether it “hurts” anyone or anything. This new system is just like any other release in ESO: broken and incomplete, just like every other system they’ve added. I’m serious, can anyone name a single system that feels 100% complete? Just one? Every single one feels unfinished, and ZoS could absolutely make them better.

My question is: why don’t they want to improve them?

At this point, it doesn’t feel like it’s about passion anymore. The love and attention to detail that once went into ESO faded a long time ago. Now we just get new systems that are incomplete or don’t even make much sense, all so they can say, “We updated the game.”

And honestly, at this point, it feels more sad than problematic.

If at this point no progress has been made because the player doesn't intend to do anything in Night Market ever, a new challenge should be subtituted.

We'll probably get more seasonal challenges giving there are still about 50 days till end of the season.

There will be more than enough points available even without the seasonal challenges, especially without premium. All you're missing out on is a chance to finish a little earlier or a small amount of gold.

There is Nothing to re-roll a Season To. EVERYONE has the exact same Season options. They do not get replaced on a weekly basis and they do not get replaced once you complete them.

You will "miss out" on anything you cannot complete. You may have other things to ALSO earn, but you will miss out on what you can't complete.

What they're pointing out is that there are so many more Tome Points available than can be spent.

In the free track, there are about 20k Points worth of things that you can buy. That's it. So once someone has earned 20k Points, they have enough to buy literally everything in the free track. There is no difference between earning 20k and 80k in the grand scheme of things, since there is only 20k worth of things to buy.
The Premium track gives a few more, but I think that's around 35k total before you have everything.

At changeover, 2k points will be applied to the next Tome and the rest will be lost. U50 will automatically convert excess Points to gold at a 10:1 ratio, but the amounts that people will have will end up around a quarter million gold for people who grinded most, so that's not even earth-shattering.

So yes, by choosing to forgo the 2000 points from the Night Market seasonal, a dedicated player is really not missing out on anything other than 20k gold at the end of the season.

I did forget about that. I forgot to request the reset needed when I opened all my caches right away so I am definitely going to have much more than I need (and the gold conversion will have little, if any value, given how low it is. Though intense casuals like me (though I am not quite as intense as I have been in the past) still want to "earn it all"!

If you feel like you'll 'miss out' by not completing a challenge for points you won't need, there's a simple answer. Open group finder and join a group farming bosses.

You can get 75 points and a gold coffer every day just standing in the courtyard - pick up the Blood in the Sand quest, wait a couple of minutes for the group to complete it (it's just 150 kills and they'll be killing lots) and turn it in. If you follow the group around for a bit it'll be even more.

If you pick up your faction quest there's a chance for a race or oddity one and they can both be done solo. If you go to The Parch and hug the right of the building directly ahead of the entrance, then round the fountain and to the right, there's both right there and you don't need any combat to reach them. That's another 85 points and the other gold coffer. You might even get one of those quests shared with you while you're grouped letting them do your other quest for you.

There's loads of quests around that can also be done solo and are worth 40 points each. Sometimes the easiest way to do them is to die, because you can complete them in ghost form and that lasts ages there. It feels like a weird way to play but it gets the points.

If you choose not to join in Night Market that's perfectly fine. Nobody has to enjoy everything and nodody has to do anything they don't enjoy. But you do have to accept that if you choose not to participate in something you miss out on the rewards from it. You can't have it both ways.

If we get a seasonal challenge for battlegrounds or Tribute I'll absolutely be sitting them out. But that's totally my choice. Nothing is stopping me from completing them except that I don't want to. That's on me.

I'm not rerolling any challenges. I'm not even looking at them. It is a source of continual amazement to me that anyone does. If I complete some by accident, fine, though it's really annoying the way the message to collect the Tome points dominates the screen until you do something about it. If I don't complete any at all, really, it doesn't matter. There is nothing to miss out on.

Seasonal challenge cannot be rerolled. Unless specifically time-limited, like the Anniversary box challenge, they last for the entire season. Barring a miracle of biblical proportions, my two EU toons will never get to 5K, much less the 10K for the pursuit (both being around Level 30 and both running overland gear doesn't help, either).
I'm fresh out of outrage, but I could muster up some amused annoyance if required.
