
we did it like this: 2 tanks, 2 dds. i was like an off tank, and i stayed as far from the spider as possible. with my 45k hp, 30k resist, i could survive the pull while the dds burned the spider. it was so easy. we had several wipes before that with a typical group setup, 1t 1h 2dd. but when i swapped to tank build, it worked first try

They have the hoarvar gimmick in the fight? What purpose does that serve?
None by all my accounts. If that's their intended method, that's a poor design choice, why do it that way? Get rid of the hoarvar.
At first I figured it had something to do with the red spectral spider you find in the skittering. Where it grabs someone in the same manner and then someone else grapples through the line to break it. Why not have that in the fight?
But then I'm exploring the boss zone, and there's no grapple spots. Then I thought back to the long standing gimmick of the Hoarvar Ball deleting webs in various dungeons originating in Maelstrom. That didn't work. Tried chucking it at the spider, and the boss too. Nothing. That hoarvar serves zero purpose in that fight.

I've been in a lot of groups doing that dungeon, people that have the Gatekeeper level DPS that satisfy Perfect Trials HM Trifectas, and none of them have ever killed that spider before it either reels someone in, or before the person dies from the DoT applied to them from being dragged.
