Tomes turned out to be great

Tomes turned out to be great. There is enough content in them to replace what we were getting with the Daily Endeavors. The re-roll option means I don't have to do things I would otherwise avoid. A bit more time to grind them lets me skip a day and we even get credit for partial completion. The 15 tome points per day are a decent replacement for daily logons. The rewards are better and I get actual choices.

Great work on this one ZOS, a definite improvement.

The tasks are ok, although I wish they had the same variety as endeavours used to. I've rerolled several of them and gotten the same things over and over so I don't think it's just that I'm only seeing a fraction of the options (if I am then I've had even worst luck with rerolls than I thought). They spent a lot of time refining the activities for endeavours so I don't know why they've only kept a tiny fraction of them.

But one big downside for me is you don't get to choose what you get to the same extent as with endeavours. Because tome pages are locked until you earn an arbitrary number of points (far more than required to buy all the free rewards) if there's only a few things I want I still need to earn the same number of points as if I was going to buy everything, and because points expire at the end of a season I can't save them up like I do with seals. Overall it feels much more inconvenient unless you want to buy everything ZOS chooses to sell you.

Buying seals and other currencies helps a bit with that, but not much, and it's irritating to have several intermediate steps to get to unlocking something I actually want.

I hope ZOS brings back daily login rewards in addition to the tomes. I have a large number of accounts and can't possibly earn enough points on those accounts to unlock tome point rewards. I miss the daily login as it gave those other accounts rewards like basic food, potions, XP scrolls and gold.

If I login to those accounts each day I get a paltry 15 tome points, after about 5-6 months I'd have enough points to unlock the first page. I don't really want to login to those accounts, look at a chore list just to get enough points to unlock every thing. Sure, I do play those other accounts but I only have limited time and I have little intention of dedicating it to completing a list of tasks.

Yes, the downside is the expiration of points. Otherwise it's okay.

Tomes are a great addition the problem is when they overlap with golden pursuits or events wich are esentially the same thing. I feel like in those cases it's too much.

The daily login one should be replaced with a weekly objective to reduce fomo.

I don't like the new Tomes. I actually liked Endeavors better, because I feel like I could earn more Seals. With Tomes, I can still earn a few Seals, but there's just too many rewards that I don't care about. And I really dislike expiring Tome points.

Endeavors would occasionally throw us something easy, like use emotes three times. The weekly Tome Challenges are very repetitive. I'm getting tired of killing the same WBs over and over. Anyway, I currently find myself playing ESO less than I have in ten years.

It's my understanding that when the Season ends, we can only carry 2000 points over to the next Season. Anything over 2000 points vanishes.

    Is this correct?

We actually got the same amount of seals as we would have. They made sure of that in particular.

Yes. They are also working on an autoclaimer that will buy the remaining accessible items that don’t take up inventory space with your remaining points. Overages over 2000 that cannot be redeemed for items will be converted to gold. At least that was my understanding.

Really? I guess maybe that's true, if I unlock all the pages, which I probably won't do. That would just leave me with even more expiring Tome points at the end of the season.

I've got close to 20,000 pts so I guess I'm gonna go dump a bunch of Dreugh Wax onto the market

I wish there were more things to use tome points on. I didn't get the battle pass because nothing in it seemed worth the cost. I've already redeemed every free page and now I have over 5000 tome points left. Even if it were silly things or utilities. It just seems like a waste with 2 months left on this season that every tome point I get will just be turned into gold.

Any points over 2000 will convert to coin if they can't be spent on items. They'll only unlock the items that don't take up inventory space so you don't have to worry about dumping a bunch of potions in your bag.

It occurs to me that there is aa slightly clever/devious marketing strategy buried in these points.

I have unlocked all pages and purchased everything on my main account..... I was not even thinking about purchasing the Premium Tome BUT now i am considering it.

I've quite enjoyed the challenges and I still have points to spend(over the 2k that will carry over), so now I'm thinking with a few weeks left on Season Zero, that maybe I should unlock the lower Premium Tome. 🤔

I'm glad to hear we will at least get something for our overage (though I really have no need for more gold.)

I was feeling down on them at first, but now I'm all for them. I finished unlocking all of the pages (including bonus) and purchased all of the base items, so now I can relax and completely ignore the system until the end of the season. I much prefer this to daily login rewards and endeavors.

Maybe if there's something in the premium tome in the future, it'll be more grueling to unlock everything, but I suspect it will still be better than trying to 100% endeavors.

i completed all 10 pages plus the bonus pages on both servers befoire a month had passed and with 2 months to go i have more tome points than i could ever carry forward to the next season and 2 months on this season to go. In fact i have so many tome pints that even if i bought the premium time - which i'd never do - i'd still have more tome points that i could carry forward to the next season and there's still two months of tome point gathering to go. kinda crazy how many you can get. And they start us off with endeavors that have one one gold motif to buy? i want to buy the motif gold books and there's only one to buy! such a pain. bu8t yah tomes ok i guess.
