Oddities in Night Market

Today I was trying to do the light of whatever oddity where you have the buttons and the light beans and ... well i presume i'm supposed to focus them to one point at the top it looks like a brazier so

but I was having a heck of a time memorizing all the mirrors that move for each button (esp since it resets and then times out after a couple tries; and I'm not sure they're all the same) ...

and then I realized something that, if true, is maddening.

Are those buttons and the mirrors color coded??? because 4 DIFFERENT colored buttons would make more sense than blue, red red red and would make the random splash of color meaningful

Except, as I'm sure you've guessed, I can't see that color. Or am I supposed to see some kind of rune on the mirrors that "matches" (if the buttons have runes I haven't paid attention since there's nothing to match to)

Not a fan of these type of riddles in multiplayer areas as I think they just kill the gameflow

Yes, they’re color coded. Red, green, blue, and yellow. I realized today because we may have had a colorblind person in our group that this isn’t colorblind friendly. There are symbols on the pads but that isn’t really helpful for this game specifically. Zos clearly needs more colorblind employees.

I see blue, red, yellow, blue pads on ground. There is no green on my screen. I assume it's badly designed tbh and was supposed to be greenish

for the oddity the spider one in the skittering is easy - no riddle, just kill spiders, needs 4 players...
for the race - the parch is free of enemies (can easily be done solo) - those 2 are the easiest for each...

The spiders is actually easier for me with 2 so people don’t burn out the flame throwers.

Spiders are the only one that needs more than one person. I managed to solo most of the others. It gets annoying having too many people or trolls dragging mobs on you while you're trying to finish them.

The spiders one is annoying because you have to pixel hunt to get the prompt for each pad.

How did you manage to do the guiding light solo? There isn't enough time to activate all the pads needed to move the mirrors, not unless you luck out and know by heart exactly which ones and how many times with only one glance at the starting set-up.

My group had that problem trying to do one of the puzzles. I assume the symbols are supposed to help colour blind people tell them apart but they're hard to describe, which makes explaining what to do really difficult if one or more people can't see the colours.

I’m all for colorblind options, the hubby can’t see the difference between red and green most times. I don’t think the colors matter for the puzzles though, it’s one symbol per lane in each case.

Riddles are fun but not in a 12 members group lol.
I did lead my guild 12 members team in a run to complete all oddities and we did manage it but had to redo all riddles 3 times because some bug prevented random members to get the completion and the respawn was a disaster in a 12 member context.
It wasen't easy to keep the group togheter.

ZOS if you are reading the boulder oddities are particularly bugged and at time they don't assign the completion for someone in the group even if he is close or actively partecipated in the puzzle.
Making all 12 do something in certain puzzles is really difficult.

It doesn't matter for the spider one but it does matter for guiding lights. I don't recall seeing the matching symbols on the rocks themselves, so the pads having icons on them doesn't do anything to help there either unfortunately.

i think in boulders the colors go to the popup deflectors

But I haven't figure out how to "win" that one yet. I know I'm going to either need a group and leech for the rainbow lasers or I'm going to have to get someone else in my house to play while i tell them how ...

got spiders in a group the other day. But most groups just race boss to boss (I guess to collect keys after going to the dungeon? ) and everything else get skipped :/ Its like speedrunning RNDs already :o

Hyperioxes has some useful guides for the oddities.

I'd also note that for at least Guiding Light if you attempt the puzzle and log out and log back in you can attempt it again.

It likely gives you a new instance, the puzzles activate instantly (10 seconds) if no one else has been in the vicinity to put it on cooldown.

Pure RNG, it would be best to have one other person with you. I often don't quite have time to make the last pad adjustment, which with another person seeing the patterns right would. The boulders are much easier to solo once you figure out the paths.
